Doug Cornelius started following the question ""Feed access disabled" is driving me crazy!" in PBwiki.
Doug Cornelius replied on January 31, 2008 03:04 to the problem "How do I track changes to documents that I have uploaded to my wiki. When others open the files and edit, then save, the file on my wiki is not changed." in PBwiki:
I think you are missing the point of the wiki.
Copy the content of the documents into the wiki. They let everyone edit the wiki pages. If you subscribe to the RSS feed or notifications you get the changes as they are made.
If a document is long, break each section of the document into a separate wiki page.

I have found that getting the manager involved is not always key to the sucees of the wiki. I have found the real key to be finding at least two peopel willing to commit to using the wiki as a place to hold information.
In one of our wikis, the director blessed people it. It has been incredibly successful with 80+ pages and several edits a day (and less email) for the team of ten. But the director does not use it.
In a second wiki the manager required people to update the wiki with project status. It has not happened. The manager is the only one using it. He did not get the buy-in from anyone else in the group to use a wiki.
