Drea replied on December 07, 2009 23:47 to the problem "Shared folders become unshared! Is renaming an issue?" in Dropbox:
Shared folders that are 'deleted' actually become unshared. Anything that would normally delete a file from Dropbox (moving a file out of the Dropbox folder, or moving the Dropbox folder itself) will cause a shared folder to be unshared.
If you don't think that applies, you can always contact our helpdesk here and ask us to look into it:
https://www.dropbox.com/ticket
If you rename a folder inside of a shared folder, other members of the share will see the name change. Shared folder names are user independent though, so you can rename the shared folder to anything you want and other members of the share won't see the name change.

Drea replied on December 07, 2009 23:43 to the question "not getting 250 megs for referal via sharing" in Dropbox:
Felix,
The people you refer must sign up to Dropbox using the link you provided, and then they must install the Dropbox application and link it to their account in order to finalize the credit.
If you believe both of those steps have been followed, you can contact us and ask for us to fix things, we're happy to help!

Drea replied on July 29, 2009 23:39 to the problem "Dropbox mass deletes 1000+ files occassionally without any apparent reason." in Dropbox:
Danila,
You have a lot of shared folders, so without knowing which one I can't give you 100% specific information, but generally this is caused by running an older build of Dropbox afflicted with a bug that triggered erroneous sync commands. I notice that you personally are running quite an old build on all of your computers. Upgrading yourself and asking those you share files with will keep this problem from happening again.
I recommend this build for upgrade:
Windows: http://dl-web.getdropbox.com/u/17/Dro...
Mac OS X: http://dl-web.getdropbox.com/u/17/Dro...
Linux x86_64: http://dl-web.getdropbox.com/u/17/dro...
Linux x86: http://dl-web.getdropbox.com/u/17/dro...
Please contact support@getdropbox.com if you need further assistance, you're much more likely to get a speedy and personal response there :)
Drea replied on July 21, 2009 00:36 to the problem "Dropbox can't sync non-existing file" in Dropbox:
Sometimes this can be caused by your local Dropbox database getting a little out of whack. You can force a rebuild of that database by unlinking and then relinking your computer:
1) Click the Dropbox tray/menu bar icon, then click 'Preferences'
2) Click the 'Unlink' button
3) Afterward, your Dropbox will prompt you to re-register. Click 'Existing user'
4) Enter your account info.
If that does not work for you, and you're running the latest version of the Dropbox software, please contact support@getdropbox.com and we'll help you out :)
Drea replied on July 21, 2009 00:33 to the problem "Can't Sync File(s)... Permission Denied" in Dropbox:
The solution is likely to be a little different for every user who's experiencing this, so as Jon stated please email support@getdropbox.com if you run into this, and we'll help sort you out :)
