A comment on the question "Can you stream to a Squeezebox?" in Spotify:
I think it most churlish to so strongly endorse another company's offer here. Do you work for Napster? For my part I will continue to enjoy using Spotify. I find the free of charge service more than adequate, the adverts quite inoffensive, the interface a pleasure to use and the user play-list facility the No1 USP. Yes I would like to be able to stream to other devices about my network with full control - but this is for free so exceptions I will allow. – DRTobin, on October 08, 2009 14:20

I love Spotify on my computer. But when I am working it is really more of a distraction than I can function well with. I want to use Spotify all around my home, that is how I like to use music. I have a new iPhone and could use Spotify from it but prefer to consume the numerous pod-casts I subscribe to - and I am not out and about that much anyway. If it was free on iPhone, OK I would tune-in now and then but nowhere near enough to wish to subscribe. If I could play and control Spotify around a home wireless network not only would I happily pay-up the monthly subscription to do so, but I would also pay for bespoke 'plug-in and play' bits of kit set-up ready to do the job - say £150 per unit - so long as it did all other stuff that other such products did additionally. Now come on Spotify folks; I do not think you have got your product positioned quite right in the market yet - excellent as it is and all that. Let's not let this opportunity slip away - your offer has just the one weakness, delivery. Address it and you are on a home-run! Go PLC doing this and I will even then buy a share or two in your undoubted success.

A comment on the idea "Copy a playlist" in Spotify:
This is a good point - obvious to all others no doubt but like a ray of light to me. By being able to copy a playlist I can make eddied versions of my now giant jukebox (which I enjoy as it just goes rumbling on always playing my choice of music - like a private radio station). For a starter I need to create some reduced/slimmed lists so I can have lists of no more than 3,333 tracks to play on my iPhone. However I am still reluctant to cough-up a £120 p.a. subscription for the few occasions I am out and about. AND it means I can have a backup of my big playlist which I've nearly deleted once already! – DRTobin, on September 16, 2009 17:17
