A comment on the question "Skype porn spam (coming in as contact requests) is worsening" in Skype:
It's absolutely an automated attack. 99.9% of spam, whether email spam or blog spam or Skype spam, is robot-driven. That's why it can be hard to stop unless Skype makes it a priority. – Drummond Reed, on August 17, 2009 13:55
Drummond Reed asked a question in Skype on August 16, 2009 13:02:
Skype porn spam (coming in as contact requests) is worseningSkype porn spam - in the form of new contact requests - has now risen to the level of several per day for me. It's to the point where I can no longer attach any significance to the Skype window tab being orange (notifying me of a new message), because more than half the time it's spam.
This is despite my having "throttled down" Skype's privacy settings to their absolute tightest level - chats only from existing contacts. That still doesn't stop porn spammers from just sending spam in the form of new contact requests.
I've seen threads on Skype's own support site about how much worse this is getting. I can't even imagine installing Skype now for my kids, even though they are old enough that I'd like to start using it with them when I am doing business trips.
Can't Skype fix this so notifications will start meaning something again?
(Part of my frustration is that I love Skype and use it regularly, so I really don't want to see it go the way of email.)-

Don't use a calendar date picker for entering a birthdateSuggestion: don't use a calender date picker on a field where you need to enter a birthdate. It requires one click per year to jump back to your birth year. Instead, if you need to force a picker, use a drop-down for year, another one for month, another one for day.
