Well, after reading the replies, its looks like Twitter almost dead.
Anger, disappointment, hating, so much going on, well Twitter staff must be feeling the same way, its pretty much crazy inside when we run out of options.
But we can't let it go like this, its a great tool ever build, a great concept, a life partner.
So let the society fund Twitter, put a small Donate button and we need this much more
Twitter can't quit like this, so many people loved it too much, depends in too much.
For now, until get things really clear, I think good to focus on these things
IM to be restored really fast
Introduce E-Mail-to-SMS support so many users will get their updates and DM's back working, no cost for Twitter at all
Twitter have to apologize from all its users to stop SMS without prior notice - its just bad service, gotta admit that
We will get it back as a society - our life hanging up partner

Hello Crystal,
Its a sad day for Sri Lankan Twitters too. $1000 per user per year, yeah, its sounds a lot. Thanks for hooking up till now. We will be miss Twitter so much, no need to explain. But hope you guys will talk with our operators and get us back on the track. Also we will post some mails to our operators informing this.
These are our operators contacts:
Mobile Operators: (Ordered by market share)
1, Dialog Telekom (MTN) (60%+ Market Share) : www.dialog.lk
2. Mobitel : www.mobitel.lk
3. Tigo : www.tigo.lk
4. Hutch : www.hutch.lk
Fixed Operators:
1. Lankabell - www.lankabell.lk
2. Suntel - www.suntel.lk (Currently operating a Internet based Free SMS service via www.wow.lk, that'd be helpful.)
3. SLT - www.slt.lk
4. Dialog CDMA (Dialog Telekom - MTN) - www.dialog.lk
Airtel (Coming soon) : www.airtel.lk
Think your talks with our operators will go positive, its a good logic because, twitter indeed increases SMS usage.
We're being hoping so much to get Twitter SMS working again for Sri Lanka.
A comment on the question "Why are my feeds posted without the link, even though I selected that option??" in twitterfeed:
Hello Mario, highly appreciate your consideration, I tried by changing it to SnipUrl also, but still the same, its not posting URL at all for any of my feeds. May be its after changing to GUID because recently my feed got invalid time zones format. Its totally okay if you want to logged into my account. Thank you for the great service. – Duminda, on July 31, 2008 17:57
