We set up a new Beanstalk user whose sole purpose is to receive commit emails. This user's email address is a google apps mailing list address everyone interested in the commits subscribes to.
This is nice since it lets us manage who gets what emails from the google apps interface instead of having to manage subscriptions across several apps.
Probably wouldn't have done this if we were getting our own commits, so I think the small pain was actually a good thing. How about it!? -
