If you do what garf said, you will delete all your saved passwords.
Try what Tom said, http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/U....

@Thomas: Could you please tell me your Mento username again?
Once you webposted a screenshot with Skitch, you should see a note about it when you open the Mento box the next time.
There is a short video that illustrates the process on our blog: http://blog.mento.info/2008/06/skitch... (bottom of page)

I didn't know you were still having problems, Girl Friday.
I'm going to point you to some of the newer support.mozilla.com documents. Number one, you wanted to know where to delete those files, profile folder contents would tell you about that. However, I'd first suggest looking at the (new) username and password not remembered page, as I think it's a little more up to date than the mozillazine knowledgebase.
The last ditch effort, to create a new profile, is outlined in recovering important data from an old profile. I would recommend backing up your data as mentioned there anyway, before you go ahead and delete those signons.txt and key3.db files. Just in case.

I have a mac. I don't have one of those files. I think that if I were a windows person what you said might work. – Girl Friday, on July 01, 2008 03:18

Can you give me some more information about this? I think you're assuming that I know more than I really do. Thanks – Girl Friday, on June 30, 2008 18:26

OK, I read the links that Thomas indicated. I created a new profile and copied places.sqlite, formhistory.sqlite, cookies.sqlite and searchplugins/ from "default". The problem didn't disappear. So, I "debugged" the process, copying each file and opening FF to test. I realized that the problem came back when I copied cookies.sqlite.
So, I simply removed cookies.sqlite from my "default" profile, and everything is working fine. Probably, Preferences -> Privacy -> Show Cookies -> Remove All Cookies has the same effect.
Please Thomas, let me know if this is a FF problem, or bad cookie management from websites. Since it happens in all websites and a website shouldn't be able to corrupt cookies.sqlite, I think that is a FF bug.
Tip: I remember that I had the same problem some time ago when I was using FF2, so it's not FF3 exclusive.
