You may try setting up your cell phone email address as your email address under "settings" "account". I just joined Twitter and I had to do that if I wanted to get my replies because I can't even set up my phone here. I have short messaging and have no prob with Google, Yahoo, or any of my Cr Card accts. So there is something between Twitter and my local carrier. But that's another story. My cell phone email address is (my 10 digit cell number) XXXXXXXXXX@cwemail.com, This is for Centennial Wireless.
For Sprint you will use your 10 digit cell phone number @messaging.sprintpcs.com or @pm.sprint.com.
Other carriers; (I did some research and found these other carriers addresses at tech-recepies.com)
T Mobil @tmomail.com
Virgin Mob @vmobl.com
Cingular @cingularme.com
Verizon @vtext.com
Nextel @ messaging.nextel.com
US Cellular @email.uscc.net
AT&T @txt.att.net
Alltel @message.alltel.com
I also find it useful to use my cell phone email address for sites that don't include my carrier in their drop down list because it's a local carrier. So I set it up as a pager if that option is available. You and your friends can also send emails to your phone just as they would any other email address. If you have unlimited text messaging this is free, just like a text. But if you send multi-media (MMS) there is a charge for this unless you have a package of course and a different address. Like, mine is my 10 digit cell number xxxxxxxxxx@myblue.com.
Good luck, Cheryl
