Yes, I was referring to updating the video card drivers and also miro itself. I have not updated or changed any codecs installed in windows.
My video card is an Ati FireGL V7200.
Not sure about KLite Codec Pack as I do not have that installed. Have you tried uninstalling that & rebooting to see if it clears up? *shrug*-

well, I've updated miro to 2.5.1 (r9904) & updated video drivers to the latest & the videos are now playing in miro.
i wish i would've checked after installing the video drivers & before upgrading miro, but everything seems to be working well now. -

To be honest, I've only downloaded a handful of things on the last few versions of Miro and they all have the same problem. I have been trying out this app since way back when it was called DTV & Democracy Player & I don't remember ever seeing this before.
I have no problem opening any of the videos in other apps, including Media Player Classic Homecinema (build 1.2.908.0), VLC (0.9.9), Quicktime (7.6.2(515)).
I have 4 GB RAM and an ATI FireGL 7200. I'm going to update the drivers for the video card to the latest available, since I'm currently running drivers from 12/2008. If that fixes it, I'll make another post.
Anything in particular you'd like me to profile on this machine for you? -

Dean: I see this problem & am running Windows XP SP3. If I open the videos in external applications, I have no problems. -
