EasyMac replied on August 19, 2009 06:24 to the problem "jumping to a song freezes songbird" in Songbird:
Same problem for me (on Mac OS X)
For me, I can select a song upon opening songbird, and it plays just fine.
It continues to work, playing through the next songs in the lsit as long as I don't interfere by choosing a different song or hitting the next button. The moment I try to choose a different song, songbird shows that new song as currently playing, but the time stays at 0:00, and songbird locks up completely.
I have to do a force quit.
This happens every time I run songbird, with no relief.

EasyMac replied on June 24, 2009 13:55 to the idea "Last.fm-like multiple tag system" in Songbird:
I'd like to be able to create my own tags to organize my music, not have to deal with some of the crap tags on last.fm.
For example, an album I was listening to (and enjoying) the other day was tagged on last.fm as "douche".
I personally clean up all the metadata on all my music so I can have complete control. I'm really excited about the multiple tag system ideas put forth here, but if it gets tied to last.fm, I won't use it at all. Period.

EasyMac asked a question in Songbird on February 14, 2009 16:43:
ID3 Tag CompatibilityHow can Songbird be set to write id3v2.3 meta tags instead of id32.4?
Is there some sort of preference in about:config perhaps?
I'm trying to use Songbird with Zune Software because the Zune Software is terrible and I want to manage and play my music in Songbird at my computer and Sonbird cannot sync to a Zune device (yet...)
Unfortunately, Songbird creates 2.4 tags, an the Zune software only reads 2.3.
I can convert the tags in mp3Tag, but even if I do this for all my files, as soon as I change any metadata in Songbird, they'll be 2.4 and I'll have to convert them again.
So, can my Songbird be set to write 2.3 somehow?
(Because I know Zune won't ever respond to customer feedback and allow 2.4 reading)-

Echo!
I have a Mac and I run the Zune software in Parallels for syncing, bu the software won't play nice with iTunes OR Songbird, and the Zune software, especially through Parallels, is not a viable solution for listening to music on my computer. Right now I'm going crazy just trying to keep my music library from falling apart because Zune keeps trying to grope a stranglehold on it. I got Songbird hoping it could be a mediator in the Apple vs Microsoft battle for my media, but things still aren't going so well. It would make my life so much easier to have Zune support in Songbird.
(As a side note, I love how Songbird and all of its functionality. After only a few days of using it, I've been very impressed and already prefer it to iTunes)
Keep up the great work, Songbird team!
