File a complaint with the State Attorney General's office over privacy issues. I filed a complaint with the State Attorney General's office because they disabled my account, right after approving an ad for a praying group that's free mind you, they took my credit card info and charged me and then disabled my account. They won't reply to any emails, so I filed a complaint with The State Attorney General's office over that and privacy issues. You can't take my credit card info and then disable my account and I know nothing of what you do with my info.
File a complaint with the State Attorney General, that's what your state taxes you're paying, are for. Use the resources available to you and make Facebook be accountable to the law. – Lalah, on November 18, 2008 18:15

I didn't get a warning. It was just poof gone. I signed up for an ad on Facebook which they promote, get an ad, get an ad, and so I did, for a non-profit group for praying. Yes, praying. They approved my ad and thus began to charge me by the day . After an hour of approving my ad, my account was disabled. Yep, disabled. They took my credit card info and gave me an approval by email and then disabled my account. My prayer group is still intact, but it has no administrator because I'm not there. I've email them several times at disabled, info, and apppeals @facebook.com To no avail. So then a friend of mine, who's an attorney, said that taking the ad was a financial transaction. Ha! So it's commerce. You can't take my money and then not make resources available to me that I paid for. So I filed a complaint with the State Attorney General's office. And I'm taking Facebook to small claims court. If we dont do something beside whining and griping, Facebook wins. In Canada, a group of students are suing (class -action) Facebook for privacy issues. Americans need to do the same thing. We whine and whine, and never take action. Unfortunately, in this society, change only comes through the courts. When Facebook is forced to defend its reputation and spend thousands of dollars, then it will clean up its act. Write your State Attorney General and file a complaint, use privacy issues as a reason, whatever, just get it done. For those with businesses, sue for disruption of service when you paid a certain amount for ad. They don't respond so you don't know what's been spent, because most ads are charged by the click. You need transparency in these situations. So sue in small claims court, what's $54 bucks, and that's if you lose. Draw attention to the local paper by sending in your suit against Facebook in small claims. Most small papers have nothing to write about that's this great or newsworthy, imagine the write ins they'd get from people who probably had the same problem. Refer to the thousands of complaints here on this site. Get affadavits from people on this site if you can. Just get it done and start taking actions. We're Americans for Goodness sake, we know how to get things done and take names later.

Those muppets at facebook don't even bother to reply - my account got disabled 5 days ago and I've been bombarding about 7 different email addresses with the question why it was disabled, and when it would become available again.
So far : 1 reply from helpdesk@facebook.com which actually said :"you have reached the internal helpdesk of facebook, please refer to page blahblah". That was what I did in the first place anyway. They didn't really bother to forward my request to the right dude either.
Customer care ? They never heard of it, it seems. And they call this a social networking tool ???????? Perhaps they better get a tiny bit more social themselves. This is pure Gestapo strategies.

Please Help.
Dear Facebook Team
,It has been 3 days since I first sent you an e-mail. There has been no reply to what is going on. Listen I have been a great user of your service and I haven't violated anything. I never received any warning or anything. This is terribly frustrating especially since it was abrupt and I haven't done anything wrong.
Please tell me what I did to suspend service and I will fix it immediately.
Thank you,
Savio Ab

File a complaint with the BBB. Facebook has an unsatisfactory record with the BBB. And keep spreading the word about their totalitarian policies. I've seen soft porn on their site and reported it and the soft porn is still there. I've also seen fake names and individuals using facebook to advertise their business on their profiles (both prohibited), but that material is still there. They disabled my account for no apparent reason and ignored my inquiries. I filed a complaint with BBB, so let's see what happens.

i cant believe that facebook can disable accounts without warning or even giving a clear reason why except to point to very vague T&C's and claiming "misuse". if there are system limits on usage they should be documented!
like many have said before...its like KGB coming along and chucking you in a gulag without telling you the charge or even having a trial.
this is very worrying company practice and what are they doing with the information and relationships setup between contacts? is facebook really a front for "Big Brother" ?
i realize you cannot really complain about a free service but the way they are working at the moment is really unprofessional...
initailly i was very angry at being disabled..but now i have calmed down. i have sent a nice letter to them asking for explanation (i assume it was due to adding friend too fast as i previously had warning and recently had message to slow down). i hope my account will be reactivated...but to be honest i dont really care if it isnt!!!
most of my contacts i knew real life anyway or have alternative contact on other websites (fb was only site where everyone seemed to be on).. i will setup a new account to try and search the other contacts but have accepted that there are certain contacts i may have lost forever!
I will go back to old school email/msn...FB can go f*ck themselves!
in hindsight i think maybe i was spending far too much time on FB anyway so perhaps they have just done me a big favor!

Hi,
I also got hit by the disabled account action on facebook.
I find their action totalitarist and of the 1940's caliber.
No solid warning. No specific reason that I can identify to. They disable my account with no warning, they remove all my data, pictures, etc. I even got somefriends phone me thinking something happened to me!
After the elction day, I talked a lot to my friends using chat and messages. As I also moved to a different city I have been using the meeting new people application (that they promote!) and getting to contact or answer messages from others.
I have 140 friends (95%, i knew outside of facebook and though my prior experiences).
I find this arrogant and dangerous. When I read the privacy notices and the agreements you had to comply to I felt VERY uncomfortable of using Facebook.
I will try to get my account just to have my friends not think I am a psycho but then will leave this hoping something else will come and will replace this unique vision tool that will show as very dangerous for everyone.

Well I called the main office today, the receptionist pretty much refused to put me through to anyone and told me that they had less then 20 phones in the WHOLE building. When I asked for a specific person, she didn't even bother to see if they were in, she just told me "NO" when I asked fi she would look up who was in that persons posistion, she told me that its Facebooks posistion to not give information such as department heads out in fear of reprisal. Makes me wonder
