I am having this problem as well but have not received an email. I noticed my updates weren't working yesterday and when I logged in today is said my account was suspended for "strange activity".
Your help is greatly appreciated.

Was there a solution to this? Where was the original post? I have the same problem and posted it http://getsatisfaction.com/twitter/to...-

Thank you. I got an email from the person who sent me the first explanation as well. The text of the original email made it sound like users had complained about my use of links. After the most recent email I completely understand why this happened. My only complaint is that I wasn't notified, so I spent several hours trying to get in and then opened a support request. That was frustrating. Believe me, the last thing I want to do is cause trouble for anyone at Twitter and I promise you, if there had initially been better communication I wouldn't have been upset and I would have followed your procedures without making a fuss about it.

Hi,
There are more reasons than one that cause an account to be flagged, which are specified in the email in and in a separate thread here, on Satisfaction. Here they are again:
1. you've followed a large number of people in a short amount of time
2. you have a small number of followers compared to number of people you're following
3. the updates consist mainly of links and not personal updates
4. a large number of users block the profile or write in with spam complaints
In your case, it may not have been spammy links, but one of the other reasons. We did review and restore the account, and I have changed your public timeline visibility back to normal.
We don't actively police people, but we do keep an eye out for potential problems. Please understand that we do this for the sake of the Twitter community; regarding communication, we're currently working on better ways to let you know when your account has been flagged. Thanks for your patience in the meantime.

Hi Scott! Please keep in mind that when people expect something to work and it doesn't they sometimes get cranky. At that point they probably couldn't care less about what the people who are paid to deal with these problems have to deal with. So while your advice would probably win you points with Twitter support personnel I personally couldn't care less.-

I'm still trying to find out why my account was suspended. The email I received specifically stated that complaints were made regarding links I had sent. I certainly do not send a large volume of links and what few links I do send are in no way spamy. So now my updates don't go to the public timeline and I'm still wondering why.
It really sucks that you guys don't communicate with your users when you suspend their accounts. You should at least send a warning or something. Seriously, your lack of professionalism is appalling. I hope something is done to improve communication in the future.

First of all, I'm not a Twitter employee, so I can't help you directly, but I did want to chime in with some advice.
Your post here would have been just as well served with a "Me too" reply in Jesse's thread.
I understand you are frustrated, but by duplicate posting you are adding more overhead for when the Twitter guys do come in and read these things, meaning your problem doesn't get fixed as fast. One extra topic may not seem like much here, but when everyone is doing it, and there are 30 copies of the same topic it can be strangling to the Twitter support team.
I'm not trying to scold, just trying to pass on some experience that I've had in the past.

I also realize that this post means a little bit less because you can't reply to topics unless you sign up for an account, but that is something us Satisfaction folks are working to resolve :-)-
