Do you poken? It would be good if you support Pokens. Those are little devices which can remeber contact with each others. Poken has a Website where you can maintain user cards (exactly like nomee), but with a poor interface and no client. Both companies could cooperate for a great service.

Please support IpernityIt would be good to also support Ipernity http://www.ipernity.com a foto sharing site. It is especially used by european users as an alternative to Flickr.

Faster Placemarks on iPhone AppIn a building with poor GPS I like to use the placemarks instead. And especially in this area it takes ages for a network connect. So it would be good if I can open the placemarks and get a cached list of placemarks immediatelly (without waiting for GPS or UMTS) and to select the Place. I should also be possible to pick a foto or note and post it. (I dont mind if the posting then takes longer, I just mind to have to wait for the placemarks to populate and then to go again to the menu to add a note).

A comment on the problem "Cannot associate Poken device with account" in Poken:
You need to plug in the token in your PC. It opens a new disk device with an html file on it. Open it in your web browser. It will redirect you to the poken web site with enough info that the web site introduces you to the new device.
I had to do it twice. I logged out from poken in between.

Bernd Eckenfels replied on April 22, 2009 20:31 to the question "Trouble adding Flickr account" in Poken:
If you move away from the password question it would be easier for you to:
a) be more trustworthy by not asking for password
b) have less problems with flickr account ids
c) bind the user and flickr profile closer to your service.
If you are curious on how to do that, get yourself an API Key, define a callback URL and use the authentication api: http://www.flickr.com/services/api/au...
Note that this does not require the user to enter anything on your page, and you still get his details. A sample URL =
flickr.com/services/auth/?api_key=3d938a92a71b43d6f04841d48bedf698&perms=read&api_sig=
(you can remove the api access after I told you your user name)
In my case I get the following XML response:
user nsid="93138891@N00" username="eckes/bernd" fullname="Bernd Eckenfels"
Besides that, the most reliable way (IMHO) to make a user identify an flickr account is not using the screen name/login name but the URL:
Tell the user to login, move to "Your Photostream" and then copy the URL from that page to your entry box. (You can check the URL for the pattern http: //www.flickr.com /photos /XXX [/]). This way it works most reliable to differentiate between yahoo id, flickr id, flickr screen name or random flickr number. This is how fdtoys is also using it.
Greetings
Bernd

A comment on the question "How can I see contact details" in Poken:
Yes, I understand that concept. However I am limited to show 3 or 6 fields. but still I have a entry form where I can fill in over 20 different fields (without repetition and without all of the actual contact details on social networks).
Since you
a) store those details
b) bother the user to maintain them
c) allow others to download them
why not also show them? (in html)

3 month...
Note that this is not only about trusting you, it is also about teaching the users not to type passwords to wrong sites.
BTW: you could also think about a "web auth" scheme for some of the less open sites. Just like google is doing that for google apps 4 domains: ask the user to include some HTML code to a web page (blog) you want to verify ownership. Then you just need to maintain a list of services and url patterns (you clearly want to pick a URL where only profile owner can type, not RSS portals or comment sections).

eckes replied on April 16, 2009 18:56 to the question "How it works should tell you, you know, how it actually works, duh!!!" in Poken:
The Radio protocol is unknown (to me), but the USB interface is pretty simple: It emulates a USB mass storage and provides a dynamically generated HTML file.
If you open this in the browser it contains a Redirect URL which will sent the information (encrypted device IDs of your peers) as a long URL (web safe base64) to doyoupoken.com. It actually is not sending it, its the browser who does (so it is portable and requires no local app).
Not sure if you can also use other protocols to talk to the poken on USB.-
