Twitter hangs Firefox 3.5.1 on Windows, Firefox hangs on Exit

this just started happening to me, even with a fresh install of Firefox, randomly when i use Twitter, the pages pretty much hang while loading, i can refresh and the pages load but still hang and do not complete entirely

this seems to hang Firefox on exit eating up CPU cycles if i'm still on the page, as far as i can tell it doesn't happen on any other sites i frequent, note that it doesn't happen all of the time but more often than not lately :S

has anyone else had this problem lately?

oh, and the NY Times would allow me to unsubscribe (cancel, close my account/subscription) from their services, what you've stated does not make much sense in this regard

i never asked that you delete my comments, i've had no change of heart in that respect and why would you assume so? i wanted my account removed, the assoicated comments?... keep them, by all means, i just didn't want any of my information assoicated with your web site, handle? thats nothing.

but its good to know the gawker networks stance towards privacy standards on the web towards its users, at least for future reference

accounts, artfuldodga and artfuldodga_ respectively, my main account artfuldodga had commenting disabled so i feel no need to take part, share my thoughts on lifehacker or any other part of the gawker network.

i would like these accounts purged from your network as they contain some minor personal information but still personal non the less.

i've looked for a way to remove the accounts themselves but i see no such method, as most modern websites provide this option, also asked for information on my disabled commeting status but have gotten zero response in return.

all of this is really not cool, 500, 400 errors left right and center... my export file is complete, i want it, fix your service for an hour so i can grab it and GTF out of dodge.

Vox is going nowhere, Pownce had more potential.

Sure I'll miss Pownce, but will I miss the Dev's/Management... Hell No, I've never seen such a disorganized mess.

hello! i'm here to inform dev's... your sh*ts f*cked up. =] .... so, how exactly does this stuff break all by itself anyhow? shouldn't the only issue really be capacity and load issues ...

all the while this has been happening, dev's have been posting... how are they not aware of the issue? oh let me guess, this only affects folks with hundreds of friends.

You know, I really would like to post to Pownce, but I can't... all because of the above, which are problems that have been going on now for the better part of pownces lifespan...

Lets try asking this again, and I expect some details, they won't bore me... after all, pownce remains f*cked now for an unacceptable amount of time, why has it taken months upon months for these issues to be fixed? I mean, seriously... its a shot in the dark when you want to use pownce, half the time you don't hit anything, I don't want to see in a reply to this thread "we're monitoring the issues, working on it, etc"... I want to know exactly when most major issues will be addressed and fixed.

My internet connection is solid and there are no issues with my network, I don't have a crazy amount of fans or friends, so in short... what gives?

But I'm a fan of say 6 folks with only a few a fan of myself and I too have issues logging into pownce, white pages... notes failing to send, large uploads failing, extremely slow loading all around (more often than not)

And no its not a connection issue... the rest of the internets functions fine, see... I'm here! =]

But the site itself is never usually down, its just not functional... :S We all know that there are problems, any ETA when everything things will be fixed?

A comment on the problem "Blank Pages" in Pownce:

Start using !Pownce or the Pownce Blog, allowing comments on some of the blog posts, throw up notices when pownce is having alot of trouble. It still should not take a few weeks to sort out these types of issues, a site should at the very least load.

You can eat all the cupcakes you want as long as noticeable work is being done, now as for progress of the site, we've seen no progress, snazzy features big or small, the pownce.wiki is chock full of awesome suggestions
yet very little have been incorporated.

Dispite the downtime, I'm starting to be very disappointed in the progression of Pownce, look at plurk... now I'm sure that wasn't put together over night but it probably in a week dominated pownce's active userbase, if you want to get in on that action the pownce team needs to spend some long nights working, being innovative and creative, for a site to be remotely successful forward thinking and development can't stop. :) – artfuldodga, on June 03, 2008 00:28
