I think that I forgot to answer Justin's last question. Yes, restarting Bump Top after a suspend (with no computer restart) fixes the problem.

thanks Jon, I noticed that too. I think that the monitor actually has 1920 X 1200, because there is noticable difference when I select 1600X1200. I also don't have this issue with any other program and the issue is only after a suspend.

The lost piles happened after the upgrade and one other time randomly.
The pixelation has always happened.
I'm running XP Pro
I use driver detective and it says that this is the latest driver for my video card.
