If CheckOff lists can be brought into iCal, (and I do this every few days by exporting to a txt file and copy/drag portions of the txt file to the ToDo Items column of iCal), iCal is a vehicle for syncing with the iPhone. By drag/drop anything from the ToDo Items column into your calendar, the iPhone syncs to any event entry of iCal. This is a one-way process from CheckOff to iCal.

In my daily usage of CheckOff, I drag CheckOff ToDo items named Today to 12 midnight of each day of my iCal calendar, as well as my Next list for the future to 11PM on my calender. In that way I carry around in iCal my most urgent ToDos from CheckOff in my iPod Touch where ever I go.

I like that I can have folders within folders. So I have 4 categories of folders: Due TODAY, What I will Do NEXT, What I should do DAILY, and all TO DOs within their project folders. I like that it acts like an outline app. That I can drag items around to where I want them.

I wish that I could Export my TODAY and NEXT folders directly into iCal. Or drag them into iCal. Otherwise, I am quite happy the way CheckOff works now, by always being accessible from the Menu and out of the way when it should be.

Perhaps having an iPhone/iPod Touch app that syncs with the iMac version would be useful to me.

I Export my CheckOff list to my Mac Desktop as a text file. I open the file with TextEdit. Then highlight the portions of my CheckOff ToDos (broken up into three folders Today, Next, Other ToDos). Then highlight/drag the Today todos first into the ToDo Items column of iCal. The same for Next. After that I drag from the iCal ToDo Items column to 12AM of the present day of iCal, the Today group. Then drag to 11PM (end of day) the Next group.

So when I use Calendar on my iPod Touch, Today and Next ToDos are with me where ever I go. – Ed, on May 05, 2009 21:08

I deleted a folder of ToDos, and then decided I wanted to just use some of them. Then I discovered there was no Undo function in the Edit Menu. That might be worthwhile.

Your program is a wonderful makes a wonderful ToDo list. I use it nearly every day.

It would be helpful if I could directly drag the list or any item into iCal. Now I have to export the list to a text file and open it in TextEdit. From there I can drag the selected text into any time slot in iCal, usually the first day of the month so I can always find it. In that way I have a sync'd CheckOff todo list on my iPod Touch.

When a folder is selected in the CheckOff list, one cannot see the leading triangle because of its color. It should be a darker color.

I am just using iCal as Apple intended. I am using iTunes to sync my
iPod Touch with iCal on my iMac.

Apple does not make use of its ToDos in iCal calendar in my iPod.
Check Off works great for that job inside of iCal. I can always find
the Check Off list as I always make it the first day of each month.
Second Gear could automate the process in a future release by making
    it a one-step drag-and-drop process.

    New Features for Check Off
I have some suggestions for Check Off
    1. Drag and drop to iCal. Drag the Check Off icon onto the a day and time in iCal.
    2. A global Expand/collapse toggle for all Check Off topics in pull down menu.
    3. Time Arrange items under topic. Optional alphabetic, user, or time order for topic items.
    4. Timeline view of timed items. Perhaps have a line that represents a day, week or month. Have a graphic (maybe a dot) that is time-linked to an item in your Check Off list. When you mouseover the dot in the timeline, the corresponding item in the list is highlighted.
    5. Timed items due today could be optionally listed in a topic at the top of the Check Off listing.

    Check Off Use with iCal
Check Off handles ToDo items more effectively than iCal at the moment. I am using Check Off so that I can carry my Check Off ToDo list with me in iCal on my iPod Touch.

Here is a listing of steps to do this. I export my Check Off list to a text file to my Desktop. Then open iCal and open the exported Check Off list in TextEdit. Then select and drag the text list to the first day of the month in Month, Week, or Day views. It is automatically labelled as ToDo at 12AM or anytime I wish and is part of my iCal calendar.

The Check Off list syncs with your iPhone or iPod Touch beautifully and anywhere else you use iCal. Anytime I update my Checkoff ToDo list, I delete the old one and drag a new one to iCal. If I have a hierarchical project with many steps, I can make a project todo list and drag just that list to any day and time on my iCal calendar.
