A comment on the problem "Apl.itunes has taken money from my account and I never ordered anything." in Apple:
did you alert the media? apple is complicit in this fraud with their negligent and cavalier attitude towards people who have been ripped off through itunes. i have NEVER had an itunes account and i just discovered today that someone made unauthorized charges. i also found out how AWFUL apple's customer service is, too. i think there is a good chance that this IS an inside job! FTC and FBI need to investigate this!! my sympathies to all of you who have been screwed by apple's negligence! seeing how many people have been affected, i think we should all get together and sue them! – dameneko, on November 06, 2008 05:01

APPLE SUCKS and needs to fix their customer service, NOW.
i am telling all my friends to boycott apple and itunes. worst customer service EVER!!!
i thought amazon and etrade were bad -- they do not even come close to apple's smug carelessness.
i hope the FTC goes after them.
we should file a class-action lawsuit if they continue to coddle scammers and thieves! just because it's $20 or $80 doesn't make it OK!
this is MASSIVE FRAUD, people...we need to get all those who have been ripped off through them together to make our voices heard!

i just discovered 4 unauthorized charges of $20 each from "APL*ITUNES 866-712-7753 CA" today. someone used my debit card number to do this. apple has AWFUL customer service. i had to call my bank to cancel my card. this is obviously happening on a large scale; why the HELL is apple not doing anything about it? i do not and never have owned anything from apple or iTunes -- now i will NEVER buy anything from apple because they are so complacent about online fraud. they need to pay for their carelessness!
if you talk to anyone at apple, i recommend calling the STORE customer service, not apple customer service (they suck big time!) -- that number is 1-800-692-7753.
i also recommend filing a complaint with the FTC:

if enough of us complain, maybe they can catch these bastards! i was mad that apple wouldn't give me the email addy of the person who stole from me.

This has just happened to me and it is where a card hacker is randomly entering card numbers until he gets one that is good and hits it for a dollar.If you do not cath it early,they do it again for a dollar to see if the card has been cancelled yet.If not caught or cancelled, that's when they really hit you for purchases and/or withdrawls.The apl*itune gives a phone number that is not a good number.800-866-****.The last four digits are the last four of your card if you look close enough.The bank can not trace it.All you can do is cancel the card and get another.

Yep - Apparently this is still going on, because I got hit with over $450 in bogus charges to iTunes on 10/25/2008. I got keyed into the scam because I couldn't update apps on my iPhone and a message popped up saying that my billing info had changed and needed to visit the iTunes store. When I went in to iTunes, I couldn't get my credit card to work anymore. Clearly Apple somehow blocked any more charges. Some of the dead giveaways: 0.) I didn't place any of the orders; 1.) Charges were all for even numbers: $50, $100, $200, and iTunes purchases are always for weird amount because of tax; 2.) None of the purchases showed up on my iTunes account history.
Called the bank ASAP, and they're reversing fraudulent charges, and issuing new cards.

I don't want to waste your time and don't waste mine. Itune have charge me twice for downloads. October 22nd I was charge 24.75 and on October 23rd I was charge again 25.49. I want you to refund or mail me a itune card equal to the amount you over charge me. I not going to waste my time getting my bank involved again . The last time you all did this the bank reverse the charges only to take the money back because your unuseful 800 # was no help to me. If know this situation is apart of your many complaints I just want my credit or Gift card.

My wife had 5 charges of $200 each show up on her debit card. She has never had an Itunes account or purchased anything from Itunes. Her bank's fraud department called her to ask about the charges. They have cancelled her debit card and will make arrangements to remove the charges from her account.
Since this problem has been occurring for almost a year, you would think that someone could track it down and stop these fraudulant charges.
I am convinced that Apple has no hand in this, but they should be concerned since it negatively affects their image and their business.

yes, i too have been scammed..............and i am really broke because i am a massage therapist and fell and broke my wrist. it just so happened to be the same day someone hacked my bank card and made charges of 600.00 dollars. i did not even know what itunes were and of course i don't have an ipod. hopefully the bank will help and atleast recredit the over draft fees...

I have a strange problem. I did order ONE song from itunes but when I saw the charge on the credit card it was .99 plus another charge for $100.00. I called and they said I had ordered a gift card as well. I never wanted a gift card and never clicked anything taht would ask for one. I called itunes and the refused to credit my account with the excuse that all sales are final. Eventhough there computer shows I have not used that credit code.
What can I do? Anyone outthere.....

same here!!i used my card in Pizza Hut, and within a week i got two APL ITUNES charged!!!it was weird coz i was ordered online with my credit card no, filled out my card no after i placed my pizza order on pizzahut.com to avoid waiting time at store, when i went there to pick up they told me the they dont have my order as the computer is DOWN!, so i showed the receipt i have printed after my order has been made and they re-do the order on spot, is that mean the pizzahut.com is the leakage? – vwgolf, on October 13, 2008 10:11

I have no idea what to do and they said its likely to be a fraud as i told them i didnt pay these items, they asked me if i want to put them on dispute and cancel my card, no other information was given, i only use paypal for my ONLY internet payment channel and never disclose my card no on other website, and i dont use my credit card for my daily payment on street, so i can narrow it down to some payment that i have been asked to fill in my card no, so that they can get it charged, one is for my graduate clothes rental, the other one is my graduate photo print, im now pretty sure is the staff who work in one of these company that steal my credit card no and either use it themselves or sell it to fraud group!
Just wonder if i can get my money back?!

I found charges totaling $200.00 on my debit card tonight. I do not own or want an ipod. I've never used one and did not make these purchases. I called my bank to cancel my card, but they could not help me get my money back. I am a single mother and live from pay check to pay check. Please help me- this made my account overdrawn!!!!!! What can I do?

I just found these same charges on my account. I was sickened when I saw them. I also have charges from a DMI*Dell Gift C on my account too. Does anyone know of this one also? They are hitting at the same time so I am sure they are from the same person. I did not authorize these and am not about to cover them!!
