Ok, so I've done some research on this and here is a list of OS's and browsers in which the cloning feature seem to work (and not) for me:
Mac OS X Version 10.5.6 (Leopard)
Firefox 3.0.8 - clone works *
Safari 3.2.1 (5525.27.1) - clone doesn't work
Opera 9.64.5270 - clone doesn't work
Microsoft Windows 6.0 (Build 6001: Service Pack 1) (Vista Ultimate)
Google Chrome 2.0.169.1 – clone doesn't work
Internet Explorer 7.0.6001.18000 – clone doesn't work
Opera 9.64.10487 – clone doesn't work
Firefox 3.0.8 0 – clone doesn't work
Internet Explorer 8.0.6001.18702 – clone doesn't work
and finally
Balsamiq Mockups 1.5.34 – clone works *
Were you using Firefox on a Mac when you tried?

Eddie Yanez asked a question in Balsamiq on April 09, 2009 10:42:
Clone element by dragging, followed by pressing CTRL buttonHi, the company I work for has recently adopted Balsamiq Mockups (Jira) as the main software for creating wireframe screen mock ups, whereas before we would use Microsoft Visio, and attach the screenshot to Jira instead. Everybody seems to be happy with it, and I believe we will be purchasing the license soon.
But there is one thing I really miss which has always been a great productivity booster for me: the ability to clone an element by simply dragging, followed by pressing the CONTROL button and releasing the click.
Any chance this could be added? :)
