I'd like you not to know the exact URL I'm visiting. Your privacy policy states that you collect "application / web site URL, web site title, ..." But I don't want you to sent to your server what my username on all these social websites is and I don't want you to know who my friends on there are.
Couldn't you just post the domain to your server? And allow someone to create a filter for page title so it doesn't send "Twitter / Scobleizer - Mozilla Firefox" but just "Twitter - Mozilla Firefox". Sure that's work that's to be done per domain, but I bet there'd be some people who are as concerned about privacy as I am and we'll tell you for each domain what the filter should be to make the title anonymous.
I'd be fine with this being an opt-in solution. Actually I don't care about all of your users' privacy. I care about my privacy and the privacy of the people I recommend your service to.

Ippy, this is great feedback. I actually very much agree with you on the header. I too think that it could be improved, lightened up and streamlined.
I think you're right about the posting interface too -- there's a lot going on -- including a bunch of new ideas that might be foreign to some folks. On the one hand, picking a forum FIRST and then posting may be harder than tagging the content as you're posting (this allows for Satisfaction to be embedded remotely, FYI). But it's true that strong divisions might be easier to use.
I think one thing that's missing from RescueTime in particular are products... I'll see if I can get some added.
I also think that your feedback about focusing on RescueTime is useful; I wonder if this issue will be resolved when Satisfaction can be fully remotely embedded in rescuetime.com?

Hi Amy,
Thanks for responding.
Actually, I don't want to interact with other companies' Satisfaction sites. I'm here to give feedback on RescueTime. If I wanted to talk about Foo, here's what I'd do: http://google.com/search?q=foo. Sorry to be blunt.

Hi factoryjoe, thanks for responding.
That takes me to 'Activity in topics you are following', but how to do I go back to an overview of topics in the "forum" I was in (i.e. all stuff to do with rescuetime)?
[searches about]
Ah, there's a discrete link to "rescuetime" next to each thread. Not sure I can be blamed for missing it though!
I think I have three issues with getsatisfaction at the moment. All strictly IMHO, of course. I really do appreciate it's early doors!
1) The interface is confusingly busy. In particular the top 450px of http://getsatisfaction.com/rescuetime... doesn't work for me. There's not enough focus on the conversation - I don't think it's defined well enough against the sidebar or header. There's a confusing heading heirarchy. And a few cupcakes go a long way. I really like the idea, but come on guys fewer is more!
2) Secondly, I can't see what benefits Getsatisfaction gives me, Joseph K Punter, over the conventional forum. The keyword for me is "conventional" as in boring but predictable. As in something I don't have to learn to do again. Look: I'm an early-ish adopter. I love new better shiny stuff. I wholeheartedly support you folks trying to reinvent and radically improve forum/online customer service. But at this moment, I can't see how it beats a moderately good install of phpBB, something that half the world online can use in their sleep.
For example, the "Hey RescueTime! just talk, or share or problem, or don't or something I don't care" text field is innovative... but obstructive and irritating. Why does it have to be on every page, even when all I want to do is read and reply? Why is it so needy? Why is it so desperate to be loved? Is it first day at High School?
[BTW Is that RescueTime's personality? Probably not.]
3) Which brings me to structure. Sorry, but tagging just should supplement but never replace the forum/topic/post ontology. First, the cognitive load of using a category tree is several order magnitudes lower than tagging. Second, in 99% of cases tagging adds nothing for me Joseph K. Punter. Third only 20% of posts will ever be tagged effectively. Yes I pulled those figures out of my manhole. Show me different.
Finally, on another note, I'm not here to talk about other companies or products, just RescueTime. I sort of feel my post TO RescueTime has been hijacked. Then again, I know you're just trying to be good hosts.
Right. That's it for me on this topic!

I have the same question: What don't you like about Satisfaction, ippy? We are constantly working to improve it so are very interested in your thoughts. In fact, if you're willing, we'd love to hear your thoughts over here.
And as factoryjoe says, you can get to all the topics you've been involved with by clicking on the "Dashboard" link in the top bar. You can get back to the list of all topics within RescueTime by clicking on their name in the top left of the page. (I'm thinking that could probably be clearer!)
And you can even interact in other companies' Satisfaction sites by finding them on the Companies page which is also a link in the top bar.

Hey Ippy,
We're really interested in what you have to say about how we can make Satisfaction better. Give us some specific feedback over here.
Thanks!
