OK, uninstalled all add-ons except Whitechapel toolbar and the problem has not repeated itself. I'll try reinstalling them gradually and see which one breaks it again.-

Hi Joe
Nope, on a Windows machine running XP 64. No Google notifier. It's definately something to do with pop-ups - happened several times since. My only recourse is to use Task Manager to close FF then restart. A couple of times the pop-up is still opening and causing the hang! In that case I use CCleaner and it's OK again. -

Firefox freezingSince I installed PMOG Firefox has frequently frozen, pushing CPU usage up to 100% and memory usage to around 600,000k. It looks to be when there is a pop-up window on a site (happened on Amazon when viewing a larger image of a book cover).
Any ideas? I'd rather not uninstall PMOG.
