Since it's a free app you can easily get in from the UK store, using iTunes. Just log out of your regular account, go to the UK store, get the app, you'll be prompted to create an account but you don't have to enter payment information (there's a 'none' option).

Sounds like a pretty okay idea. We still need to do some refactoring to make klinkr more suitable for adding other services, but this is definitely something we want to look at some point in the future.

Klinkr is Open Source, so if you have any time to contribute you're more than welcome!

We'll be participating in the pre-release program for the upcoming release of Adobe AIR for Linux, starting soon. That should give us (and Adobe) the opportunity to straighten all the bugs out.

Unfortunately, the 'encrypted local store' which we use to save user/password information and settings is not yet available for Linux. We'll have to wait for Adobe to publish a more mature version of AIR for Linux :(

Thanks for your extensive report :)

We've just tested it and we get the same problem. There are three things going on here:

1. The certificate warning seems to be an AIR problem, unfortunately.

2. The immediate 'could not authenticate you' warning is a small bug, on all platforms (it tries to fetch data too early)

3. Credentials don't work with linux. This is very strange problem, we'll be looking into it.
