Sending public notes generates error message

When I try to post a note to the public, I get redirected to the General Ackbar error message site (500). When I then return to my homepage and reload it, the sent message nevertheless appears in my list of all messages.

However my friends, who logically are supposed to be recipients of these notes do not get or see them. The same happens when they try to post a public note as well.

Apparently there's something bad going on...

I am a pro user and yes, they are!

However, if other users visit Your public page, they will still see the ads. So it is only You who does not see them anymore, which bugs me a little, as I thought as a pro user I could offer especially non-Pownce readers a site without ads, too. Ah, well...

I don't want to be the harbinger of bad news, guys, but Pownce is not an open source project, so Your or anyone else's participation apart from bug reports is rather unlikely, I would assume.

I understand and thank You again for looking into it. Just one hour ago of the six replies that were sent from a friend I received only two notifications. I'm afraid I have to agree that there apparently is no pattern whatsoever. If You do not see any dropped or not sent notifications from Your side, even server-wise, then I guess we're at a dead end.

As a developer myself I completely understand how frustrating it can be if one cannot replicate the issues a customers has and therefore not help them.

Maybe one of You will stumble upon some line of code some time in the future and go "Oops!"... :-)

Ok, and now I've got additional feedback - one has received basically no notifications at all, just like me, the other some, but getting less and less.

I'm really at a loss here and curious as to whether or not You will be able to find out what is causing this erratic behavior.

Sorry to bug You with this right now of all times, just saw that You released a big digg.com update as well yesterday (pretty nice BTW!). Remember - sleep is vital! :-)

Yes, I have and that's really not where they might have gone. Add to that the fact that it's happening to all of my friends as well, who use different email accounts at different providers with different filter settings etc., and still we all share the same problem. One of said friends even asked for his Pownce password to be sent to him via email to see if IT would get through and it did, when at the same time notifications still did not. Spooky indeed...

Again, as soon as they're back up and have replied to my request I will post their findings here.

I think I shall like to quote a Här comic strip at this point:

Well, one hour ago I did receive two replies via the desktop client, one for a private and one for a public message, and neither produced any email notifications. I've sent myself an email to the corresponding address via another account and it came through just fine.

Whether or not my friends have received their notifications of my last messages I cannot say for certain yet, but I will ask them as well and let You know as soon as possible (it's about 3 a.m. here in Germany right now...).

This whole notifications thing is getting more mysterious by the minute...

Okay-doke, so once again the solution implemented only worked for so long it seems. All day today several of my friends as well myself have not received any notifications whatsoever, thus I have to assume that email notifications are not working - again!
This is really getting a bit...well, You know. Could You please look into it and try to solve it for good?

You can already use IMified for that if You have some sort of IM client installed on Your phone. Just getting notified won't work as notifications don't reach their destination in general, so it seems.
