I would love to see this functionality incorporated in to Tweetie. I know Birdhouse is supposed to be a companion to your fave Twitter app, but why not have it incorporated as a feature.

Atebits, I'd even pay for it as an add on when 3.0 is released. If you're going to do it, though, please make mention of it so that I can hold off on my Birdhouse purchase, though (no offense to Birdhouse).

I have mysteriously stopped receiving messages on my phone.

why am i not receiving tweets on my phone? seems like every since Twitter took the IM capability down, I've stopped receiving SMS updates. Anyone else experiencing this, is this a known issue, is there something i can do?

i do have followees set to receive mobile updates.

fwiw, Free My Feed is www.freemyfeed.com. the pluralization goes to the spam as @ClintJCL pointed out.

i set it up and it seems to work alright so far.

i get cutting down traffic, but isn't Twitter all about traffic? just saying.

wow. this is a real bummer. i hope you guys can work this out soon. i too use google reader almost exclusively for reading my tweets from friends, and really miss having my rss feed.

could you explain the rationale behind authenticating anyway? seems a bit excessive.
