Oh, By The Way. . .
I tried the Quick-Set trick.
I tried the flash the BIOS trick.
The replace the power supply trick.
The replace the battery trick.
The tear everything apart and inspect for loose or damaged power connector trick.
And the charge a known good battery with another laptop then transfer it to my ill Studio XPS trick.
Nothing worked. Nothing!
I had to install a refurbished mother board in my brand new, pristine XPS laptop. Yeah, that hurt.
Still looking for that article on doing surgery on the motherboard to work around the problem.
I’ll post the URL if I can find it.

Firdavs,
Well, seeing as you are not afraid to "dig in" to the problem; Somewhere on the internet I found a pictorial on how to short out the circuit that fails which tells your laptop (erroneously) that you have the wrong power supply hooked up.
The fix was quite involved and I did not want to do major surgery on a 5 day old Studio XPS, so I never followed up.
I will look around and if I find it, I’ll post the link in this thread.

My brand-new Studio XPS-15 had the same problem!
Getting a new power supply did not help.
I had to have Dell put in a refurbished mother board.
I was not happy about the situation but the motherboard fixed the problem. I have since put hundreds of hours on the laptop and have has no problems at all.
Sorry for your frustration :-(
I know just how you feel.
