Eloise replied on March 02, 2009 12:45 to the problem "the Plotter is borked." in Eloise Pasteur Educational Designs:
The plotter has a weakness that is part of the Second Life infrastructure. Because it repeatedly runs llSetPrimitiveParams to resize bars, at some point the sim "forgets" the object because it's not feeling happy. The whole of the plotter then freezes in places.
There's nothing I can do to detect this that I can find so far, but as soon as you reset the scripts (edit the object, go to the tools menu and choose "Reset scripts in selection" from near the bottom of the menu) the plotter should start working again.
If this doesn't fix it (and it doesn't always, but it works about 90% of the time) then you should delete the currently rezzed plotter and rez a new one. If you've adapted the scripts to different things you will probably want to grab a copy in case you have to do this. This forces the sim to re-form the prims and accept it as a working process.
I can't find a work around to this beyond these, but if anyone does find alternatives please let me know.

My version of the plotter is still working, can you recompile the scripts and tell me if it starts again?
Depending on where you picked it up, there should be a notecard inside with the php in them already, however I will upload it as a text file for download as well and stick the URL in here later. It won't be today, I'm not going to be near somewhere with the right access tools to access the various sites I need for that until tomorrow at the earliest.

Moving_end borkedRecently the moving_end() event in Second Life has become very unreliable. You can see the current JIRA on this issue at https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SV....
Although there is a coding work-around (thank you to the JenniferD Noel for pointing it out) if you have an existing swing using this script or you sell a product that uses it, you will need to tell your clients to reset the script or to repeatedly move and test the swing to see if the script works properly.
In my tests it only fired about 15% of the time - so you're looking at 7+ moves on average to get it to work.

Updater systemI've got fed up with shoving hundreds of scripts into hundreds of prims for each update. I'm going to write an updater system for this too.
So, you have some options: would you like the update server to poll a target (say each time you log in) to look for updates in which case you'd be sent a "goodie" to rez and update, or would you rather be told about the updates some other way and go somewhere to get updated by a central server?

Deleting problemsIf you delete a texture, it resets to the start of the whole category at the moment. I will work on this.

More feedback from HUD as it works?I'm thinking I should make the organiser more chatty - for example tell you when it's done with sending you folders if you choose that option. Perhaps tell you the progress (in some suitable block size like 10% increments) as it goes through the de-duplicate process etc. Any thoughts?

Access list problemsI have had reports that the access list may not be working as intended. If any of you have seen this problem, please let me know!
Ideally I'd like to know what you did to set the list up and what your approved users did and what the messages were - I've checked the code and it seems to be working to me.

Can't find what you want to give feedback about?Missing a product? I will add more as I have the time, but if you can't see the product you want to ask about, I am adding an "other" category - they all get through to me.

Interested in choosing node shapes as well as colours?Someone approached me yesterday about the opportunity to rez different shaped nodes as well as nodes in different colours. I'm slightly opposed to this, mainly because I think this introduces an extra step that most users won't want, but it is technically feasible. Is there interest in this?
BTW, if as this person did, you only want the ability to rez two different shapes you can edit the node into a new shape (I suggest you buy a new system) and use the two rezzers in parallel to each other.

Menu bar badges? Is it possible to add menu-bar badges too? I'm a fan of icons in the menu bar as well as numbered badges on the dock. It might be possible to do this already and I'm not seeing it, but could you point me to how, or is it possible to do?
