Hi Sean
thanks for your note. I am aware that the option to 'replace all entries with no comments' is available, but it's not what I want for my blog as it disorganises the commenting. I queried this on the Disqus blog a while back and got this response (screenshot) http://flickr.com/photos/dramagirl/25... – Kate Foy, on June 04, 2008 01:49

maybe i'm missing something but here is the option page for disqus on my wordpress comments section.
one has choices on where they want disqus comments to show up without losing any existing comments.

Hi Sean
Yes it has but there is a continuing problem which I'm waiting to have solved. My problem is this ... if I activate Disqus (which now does have Seesmic included ... you're right there) I lose all of my Wordpress comments. I don't want this to happen. I'd like to be able to activate Disqus AND then import all my existing Wordpress comments. I'd happily use Disqus exclusively then. It's a great plugin. – Kate Foy, on June 03, 2008 23:22

Thanks for the feedback about your IE users Lisa. We're looking into this. Please send along any other feedback from your readers if they continue to experience these issues.
Currently we only offer a way of exporting your comments to XML from Blogger. We're currently working on a method to export your comments directly back into Blogger. This is a limitation of the data made available by Blogger, but again, we're developing a work around.
Unfortunately the only platform that has the ability to export back to the blog directly is Wordpress. I apologize for the inconvenience and frustration this has caused.
Sincerely,
Michael

The problem I'm having is with exporting comments, not importing them. If I can't get the IE problem fixed I'll have to go back to my blogger commenting system, and I'll need to know how to export the comments from ID back into Blogger.
As for IE, there is an error message that comes up on the bottom of the browser. It just says error on page. The ID comments seem to load fine, and you can open them and begin typing. It's when you hit submit that the error message pops up. I'm not sure of the version of IE. I have 7 on one machine and 8 on another and get the same error. I've had several different readers notify me that they were unable to comment using IE.

Lisa - to import your comments, please visit IntenseDebate.com. Please select the tab that shares the same name as your blog. This will give you access to the "Blog Tools' sub-tab. Please select this tab to access our comment importer for blogger.
In regards to your readers experiencing issues in IE, I'd like to get some more information.
1. Do they receive an error message?
2. Do they see Intense Debate or does Intense Debate not load?
3. Are they seeing Intense Debate comments but are not able to post comments?
4. Is the page load timing out?
5. What version of IE are they using?
Any additional information will help diagnose the problem.
Thanks,
Michael

I haven't tried to import my comments into blogger since I have no idea how to do it. The only option available in my dashboard is to export to XML. I don't know what to do with this XML file to get the comments back into blogger.
On another note... I'm still having problems with people being able to leave a comments on my blog using IE.
