EmilyS replied on November 24, 2009 10:32 to the question "Where can I edit the city I'm living?" in Songkick:
Hey MCWeissbier,
There isn't actually an option to set a specific 'hometown' as it were, instead you chose which areas you'd like to 'track' to find out about concerts for....so right now you're tracking Cologne, Frankfurt, Kaiserslautern, Karlsruhe, Mainz, Mannheim, Saarbrücken, and Stuttgart. This is visible on your profile page:

You can change which areas you're tracking in your Tracker - on the right hand side where it says "Tracked metro areas".
If you're referring to this view of your profile thumbnail and details:

That isn't actually something that can be edited right now - what it's doing is showing the town out of your tracked areas that comes first alphabetically i.e. Cologne. We'll think about making that something you can change though!
Let me know if you have any other questions.
Cheers,
Emily.
EmilyS replied on November 23, 2009 11:05 to the question "why can't you find old shows dy date?" in Songkick:
Hey Sarah,
It is actually possible to do this - but admittedly, it's not as obvious as it could be! If you try searching like this:
"Nine Inch Nails 06 June 2009"
You should find that it brings up the event!
Making it easier to find shows and improving the search function in general is something that we'll be improving in the future.
Hope that helps, let me know if you have any other questions/problems.
Thanks,
Emily.

Hey there,
Thanks for letting us know about this usability issue, it's something that a couple of others have flagged up too so we're keeping an eye on it and thinking about alternative options!
The tweets shouldn't normally take that long to appear - we were having a few issues with that at the end of last week, it should be faster now.
Really happy to hear you're finding Songkick useful :)
Let me know if you have any other problems.
Cheers,
Emily.

EmilyS replied on November 18, 2009 11:49 to the problem "Southend on Sea?!" in Songkick:
Hey Robert,
Really sorry about this ongoing problem and to hear that you missed out on a gig as a result of it.
Unfortunately it's still not yet on our roadmap. Reason being we have a lot of other things coming up that have taken priority because, although this case is frustrating, the basic functionality still works (i.e. if you track the metro areas where the towns in Kent have been placed, you'll still receive concert notifications).
I know it is confusing and annoying, but we've had to prioritise other improvements and new features for the time being.
As you're now tracking Brighton and Southend hopefully you won't miss out on any more Kent shows, but if you want to be sure it might be worth searching for any other towns near you to make sure you're tracking the metro area they're in.
We don't have anything against Kent, honest!
We'll keep you updated on any progress.
Thanks,
Emily.
EmilyS replied on November 18, 2009 11:27 to the question "Why are you showing tickets from resellers?" in Songkick:
Hey Daniel,
As I've said in my responses above, we do always prioritize primary sellers over secondary ones. We list both to give you as much choice as possible, so we'll continue to list them for now, but we will be keeping an eye on users thoughts on this subject.
We're also fans of Scarlet Mist and support their ethics, so we'll think about looking into linking with them somehow in the future.
Let me know if you have any other questions.
Thanks,
Emily.
EmilyS replied on November 17, 2009 17:57 to the question "How can I list all nearby upcoming events?" in Songkick:
Hey there,
You can see what's coming up in a specific place by looking at it's metro area page. E.g. as you're tracking SF Bay Area...
http://www.songkick.com/metro_areas/2...
You can reach this page either by searching for 'SF Bay Area' or by going to your Upcoming events calendar and clicking on the link in the 'Find a concert or festival to go to' module on the right hand side.
We're working on improving the metro area pages to make it easier to browse for shows on a specific day, but right now you can narrow your search by month using the drop-down menu at the top of the page.
Another way to find events on a specific day is to use the site search, e.g. if you want to see what's happening in your area on Friday, you can search "SF Bay Area, 20 November 2009".
Hope that helps, let me know if you have any more questions!
Thanks,
Emily.
EmilyS replied on November 17, 2009 17:29 to the problem "Can't seem to get the iCal subscription to Songkick working" in Songkick:
Hey Phil,
Just want to check this is you: http://www.songkick.com/users/toytown...
If not, let me know what your username is!
If so, the reason you're not seeing any events in your calendar is because you haven't actually said 'I'm going' or 'I might go' to any future events! Right now we only sync this, rather than all your tracked items.
So, if you look at your Upcoming events on Songkick:
http://www.songkick.com/calendar
The items that will show on your calendar subscription are those that appear under the 'Your events' tab. Events that appear here are ones where you've actually clicked 'I'm going' or 'I might go...

Other users have requested to have all tracked items show in their calendar subscription though, so that is something that we are bearing in mind. If this is something you'd like, you can let us know right here:
http://getsatisfaction.com/songkick/t...
I hope that all makes sense now, let me know if you have any questions about it!
Thanks,
Emily.
EmilyS replied on November 17, 2009 15:56 to the problem "Can't seem to get the iCal subscription to Songkick working" in Songkick:
Hey Philip,
Are you still experiencing issues with this??
If so, could you let me know if a) you're using the calendar integration for the first time? or b) if you've already used it successfully but it's no longer updating?
Any extra details you have would be a great help in figuring out what's going wrong! e.g. are you seeing an error message, when you subscribed your calendar, whether you're using Googlemail/Outlook/iCal etc.
Thanks!
Emily.

Hey Mark,
Really sorry about this problem - we had a look into what was causing it and it seems the emails were being sent but were bouncing - this could be due to you setting up an auto-response email if you've been away or something? This is a known bug that we're looking into fixing!
In the meantime, we have manually solved the problem for your individual account, so you should receive notification emails again from now on. Let me know if you don't though.
Cheers,
Emily.
