karl dotter replied about 2 hours ago to the problem "I am tired of AIM telling me I am logged in from 2 places" in AOL:
Right off the bat disclaimer: I don't directly work on the AIM client, but I'm in the AIM family, discussion is good, anything posted here will be heard, and I'd love to get more AIM designers involved soon.
Leslie: I like the idea of the messaging being simplified and/or figuring out if the message could be suppressed or dismissed if it's coming from the same IP address maybe?
Everyone: Would love to understand when people are getting this message (are you using multiple services at once? adium, AIM, Meebo?) and if any time it has actually been helpful. It clearly serves a security need, but there could be a better experience lurking around the corner for everyone.
Would be cool to keep this topic open for feedback instead of an overall resolution yet, anyone else want to chime in?
This is my first get satisfaction contribution, thanks!
Cameron Walters replied about 4 hours ago to the problem "Your site mangled my name!" in Get Satisfaction:
It looks like this was a one-time bug associated with moving to some new database servers recently. I'm seeing the correct name in all except 2 entries in your dashboard. Higher-level encoded characters were not ported across properly, and that caused a mangled character. Soon after, we cleaned out mangled characters and it looks like your real name was shortened during that process. Sorry Bjørn!

Great! I'm glad that your needs will be met by this feature. Stay tuned... – Amy Muller, about 6 hours ago
A comment on the idea "Allow pre-publication moderation (and implicitly, private threads)" in Get Satisfaction:
It actually should, as it helps make it explicit to the user that most of what they are posting is PUBLIC which is an issue that has arisen (personally, I once asked Pownce for a refund here on GetSat which was not something I really ment to do publically) -- so this does solve the issue I had. Thanks for clarifying. – Alan H., about 6 hours ago

For everyone's benefit, here is the previous post: http://getsatisfaction.com/comcast/to...
(It's probably better to keep it all in one thread so we can follow your progress.)
Perhaps Comcast has insurance or a program that covers inadvertent damage done by its technicians. I suppose you could sue them in small claims court, although that may be hard to prove.
Amy Muller replied about 8 hours ago to the idea "Allow pre-publication moderation (and implicitly, private threads)" in Get Satisfaction:
To clarify, though, we don't have plans for content to be held for moderation BEFORE publication. As Eric mentions above, we are considering the idea of flagged content being hidden temporarily until Get Satisfaction moderators have a chance to review it and determine if it qualifies for removal or not. However, external company reps will not be able to remove users' content from GS. That is intrinsic in our "Switzerland" model.
But also, as Eric mentions, we will be providing some additional fields for private information when posting topics. Only official reps from a given company will be able to view that private information so that people can safely post it. Hopefully this feature will serve the need you have.
