The disappointing thing is that all the specs make it sound as though everything is fine, and we can pipe whatever we want as long as it's WMV, or Quicktime video, and it claims it supports 1080p. The fact that H264 at 1080p stutters seems like false advertising in my opinion.
I do appreciate the reply, I just wish there were very specific details and that we weren't the ones having to trouble shoot this. It feels as though we are doing the job for Tightrope. We are the content providers (we are giving the client the videos) and the client has someone on location trying to import the videos to the player. Asking the client to test all of these is a bit unprofessional, but it seems this is our only option at the moment.
I sent a link to Joe at Tightrope and he is supposed to have the 'video guy' take a look at the files. I'm still waiting to hear back from them.
Thanks.
eric asked a question in Tightrope Media Systems on November 03, 2009 16:44:
What HD formats and codecs work well? Have had zero success so far and we are under a tight deadline. We are having a ton of issues getting ANY file to playback without stuttering. We so far have tried WMV's using a video rate of 8,600, then 5,400 now 3,100. We are at 1920x1080. We've contacted support multiple times with no luck, and are in a tough deadline to get this thing working.
We can not find detailed specs for anything. We simply want to know what Quicktime and Windows Media Video files work with the Carousel Player 300r.
Does it work with 1080p?
What codecs have been tested and approved?
What video data rate is too high, or what is acceptable?
The specs we find are saying it works with WMV, Quicktime, Adobe Flash, and PowerPoint, but that is extremely vague. I find it hard to believe for example, that we could just throw an uncompressed Quicktime at it and have it play with no problems.
Any help is greatly appreciated, and we would like to hear from someone that is using 1080p on a Carousel Player 300r.
Thanks so much!
