Eric Christensen started following the question "Robocopy and Wuala drive" in Wuala.
Eric Christensen asked a question in Wuala on September 22, 2008 17:22:
Can a file be maintained from a computer other than the one that originally uploaded it?In my deployment, I have one machine that stays connected all the time for trading storage, but I occasionally connect from other machines to upload files. It would seem appropriate that the first machine would be able to maintain all of the files in my account, but I have not observed this actually occurring. Are the files uploaded from other machines in jeopardy?

Mirroring a folder into Wuala using Beyond Compare 3.0 occasionally yields files with different time-of-last-modification.It seems like after copying a file into Wuala, BC is not able to adjust its time-of-last-modification, or the adjustment is lost. This happens on 1-2% of the files involved. BC is available at http://www.scootersoftware.com/

I still have this problem as well. – Eric Christensen, on July 19, 2008 01:53-

WualaPC 450 access violationI can get access violations fairly easily browsing around in the World area. Here is a link to one: http://wua.la/ericrchr/Public/hs_err_...
Eric Christensen replied on February 23, 2008 14:18 to the question "Network traffic stats" in Wuala:
Eric Christensen replied on February 16, 2008 17:05 to the problem ""Locally Stored Data" figure is not increasing" in Wuala:
This has gotten better, but there is still a big discrepancy between what Wuala reports and actual disk usage. See http://wua.la/ericrchr/Public/Wuala+l...
Eric Christensen replied on February 16, 2008 05:16 to the discussion "traffic" in Wuala:
It's not a bandwidth issue; it's a number-of-bytes-transferred issue. ISP's get charged by the backbone providers for every GB transferred. If an account generates enough traffic, the ISP will lose money on that account, and the ISP will take action sooner or later (even if it is not so stated in the terms of service).
Eric Christensen replied on February 15, 2008 23:46 to the discussion "traffic" in Wuala:
Almost all ISPs will either throttle or terminate customers that generate "excessive" traffic. It is really difficult to tell, however, how much traffic Wuala generates, and how much of the traffic is due to my files vs. someone else's. This is why I posed (in another thread) the question of determining network stats. If I'm using 5GB/month, that wouldn't be bad; if it's 500GB, my Internet service may be in jeopardy. And I'm assuming that as Wuala takes on more users, the traffic will only increase.
Please help us out here. Either give us some stats, or allow us to impose our own throttle on bytes transferred per day.-
Eric Christensen started following the idea "about :: the Local Backup feature (or not)" in Wuala.
Eric Christensen asked a question in Wuala on February 08, 2008 00:08:
Network traffic statsIs it possible to tell how much of Wuala's network traffic on my computer is due to my own uploads and downloads (including maintenance), and how much is due to other users? If not, I would find that information helpful.

"Locally Stored Data" figure is not increasingSince the introduction of the Fragments2 folder about a week ago, the Locally Stored Data figure on my client has remained unchanged at 3.8GB. However, new files continue to be created in Fragments2, and the total space it currently uses is 6.7GB.
Windows build 367.
Eric Christensen replied on February 02, 2008 23:58 to the problem "File corruption" in Wuala:
I couldn't really say since I don't know what caused the original corruption. Since it took me a while to recognize that the corruption existed in the local cache and not in the adding process, I don't even know which build may have fixed it either.
I don't see the Local folder cleared out even hours after the deletion takes place and Wuala is otherwise idle. My local folder actually got up to 11.3GB in size which is far beyond my limit of 3.8GB, so hitting the limit doesn't seem to trigger cleanup of the local folder either.
Eric Christensen replied on February 02, 2008 07:43 to the problem "File corruption" in Wuala:
I deleted all of the files in my Wuala\Data\Local folder, and the problematic files now store and retrieve correctly. Apparently once a file is imported into Wuala, it stays in the Local folder *even if deleted from Wuala and re-introduced* which is why I kept seeing the corruption.
When I delete a file in Wuala, shouldn't the corresponding file in the local cache be deleted, too?
