well, i got the update with the standby fix. Unfortunately, after 27 minutes of streaming, it went into standby mode. I did manage to get it working better before the update by disabling all notifications (seems to have been the problem as I surmised before) and I got upwards of 50 minutes of streaming before my battery warning stopped the stream. I'll keep streaming to see if the update gives me better longevity than the 27 minutes I got (my battery only went down to 60% so it wasn't a battery warning). Thanks Alex.
