A comment on the question ".DS_Store problems" in ExpanDrive:

what would the price be if it only disables the creation of them over network connections? I can't think of a case where I would need that, though perhaps people transferring files over a home network or something would find it useful. – erutan, on June 20, 2009 20:07

I still use it to transfer mockups and light editing, but for anything dynamic I generally just do my heavy transferring with cyberduck to preserve permissions. While I realize this is as much (or more) of a finder issue than a Expandrive one, with how I use the app now I think I'll keep it at 1.3.4.

Same situation as AngryAnt I think. It loads in finder ok (e.g. logs in)... but it looks empty/blank.

The first time i tried DCing from the server it gave me a -36 error, I had to quit/restart expandrive. This time it was able to DC cleanly. Console didn't throw anything related to the app (this time).

All my real stuff is sftp already, this is a friends ftp server running Serv-U... probably a version or two old??

Expandrive copied .DS_Store for me as well recently - I had a fresh folder on a server that I only touched with expandrive and when i attempted to copy over some subfolders it told me there was already a .DS_Store blah blah and stopped copying. Ended up deleting the directory and renaming another.

Maybe this .DS_Store ignore got broken in the last update, I dont' remember it happening before.

http://www.macchampion.com/arbysoft/ should work - you're essentially limited to what you can do with finder without some kind of third party solution... that being said it'd be nice to have a more seemless way to chmod.

yes it was only that dreamhost account before (3 non-dreamhost ones worked), no I had not specifically requested shell access.

nvm i just got 1.2.2 back from time machine. duh. dreamhost appears once more! hopefully seek has a backup somewhere. :)

bounced my machine and made a new connection to see if that'd help but no dice. don't really want to wipe my settings.... is there any way to download the last version? running 10.5.3 on a penryn MBP.
