Do a lot of people get this message?
I get it literally every time I access OIB.

Do NOT Auto Send Out Tweets By DefaultAbsolutely hate it when sites AUTOMATICALLY send out a tweet before you're even asked. Makes me angry and not want to use your service.
esotericsean replied on July 11, 2009 17:12 to the problem "Dissatisfied with OIB" in OtherInbox:
I think more work needs to be done on the actual product, not the features of the product. It's great that OIB can automatically scan my Gmail or Yahoo account, but now that I have migrated all these emails over to OIB, it needs to be just as easy to use.
My biggest complaint is that it's slow. A better interface will no doubt help, but I just don't want to have to wait to open OIB, then wait for it to load, then wait for it to slowly mark each message as read. It's not complicated to use, it's just annoyingly slow.

Dissatisfied with OIBI know you guys are working hard on the service, but there are some major issues that are starting to turn me off to using and relying on OIB.
1. Every single time I log on (or even often times when I refresh the page), I get the error message: "We're sorry, it looks like there's a slow connection between your web browser and OtherInbox..." Now, I have a fast internet connection. Every other website loads perfectly fine. But I always get this message in OIB and it's really frustrating.
2. Marking a message as read takes absolutely way too long. I think you need to rethink the way the inbox is setup. Everyone wants Gmail. I think you need something closer to that. I click on a new mail and it takes multiple seconds for it to be marked as read before I'm able to move onto the next message. I want it fast. Click, next, click, next. In this day in age, there's no reason for this slowness.
3. Blocking doesn't work. I get emails in my "Overstock" inbox all the time. I have it blocked. I double clicked on it and opened the advanced settings and doesn't show that it's blocked. What's going on?
4. The whole thing is too complicated. I have my normal Gmail account (well, google apps account). And then I have my other inbox. It should be just that. An other inbox. Make it more simple. I don't want 100 different inboxes. I just want one. The ability to look at all of the different inboxes within the main other inbox would be a good idea, but I don't think that's even necessary.
5. Search?
. . .
Maybe you guys should read the 37Signals book: http://gettingreal.37signals.com/toc.php
It explains that you should think about what your product doesn't need. Simplify it as much as possible.
For example, all those icons on the top-right. Receipts, coupons, etc. Are you ever going to use those? They don't seem like they will help your service, they are only there to distract and will do nothing but lead to false/broken promises.
. . .
I love the idea behind OIB, but this can be soo much more useful and fast and awesome.

Alert only when getting Reply or DMDidn't Tweetie for Mac have options about alerting *only when* you get an @reply or dm? Looks like it's gone from the new version. That was why I loved Tweetie!
