A comment on the problem "Widgets gone and won't come back! Help!" in Flock:
Jason - I'm sorry that you've had a bad experience with Flock. I'm sorry that you've chosen not to accept our help trying to solve it. But please do not behave negatively towards other forum members. Av3ry may have been a little rough in his delivery, but he was only trying to provide you with some advice as to how to stay safe on the internet.
Thank you for your consideration.

Hey JECO,
I imagine it can be, it should work the same as in Firefox.

Evan Hamilton replied on September 09, 2009 19:54 to the problem "tattoodle" in Flock:
Hey Ian,
I'm not very familiar with Tattoodle, but the way you generally remove addons from Flock is to:
1. Go to Tools>Addons
2. Find Tattoodle in one of the tabs (presumably Extensions)
3. Click "Remove"
If that doesn't work, a quick Google search revealed this page that might help: http://www.fastbrowsersearch.com/FBS_...
Good luck!

Hey Thomas,
Thanks for the kind words, let's see what we can do about your issues.
Facebook connection: What preferences did you change? Disabling the getting started page and customizing the search field shouldn't cause any issues with Facebook...
Preferences: Do you have any extensions installed? What version of the Mac OS are you using?

Evan Hamilton replied on September 09, 2009 17:34 to the idea "Auto Updates. Choice?" in Flock:
Hey Ron,
All our updates are totally optional, though we highly recommend that you do update as soon as it is available, as most of our updates contain crucial security patches that help keep you safe on the web. Not updating leaves you at risk.
Are you experiencing something that forces you to upgrade? That shouldn't be the case...

Evan Hamilton replied on September 09, 2009 17:27 to the problem "Flock "Updates" Aren't Improvements" in Flock:
Hey Walker,
I totally understand your frustration. I've definitely run into issues with programs in the past and gotten about this || close to throwing my laptop out the window.
I am truly sorry that you've experienced these issues...however, please understand that the issues you're experiencing are not normal. The login issue you mentioned is not one I've heard anyone else mention. It may only be affecting you, and may be the result of some corruption in your profile folder rather than a bug in the update (considering it's not widespread).
Don't get me wrong: it sucks that you've having to experience these issues, and I would like to try to solve them with you. But please know that we test our updates very carefully, and rarely (if ever) release them with major bugs that affect everyone...what you're experiencing is likely an individual thing.
If you'd like to try to hunt down the issue, I need to know a few things:
1. Do you have any extensions installed?
2. Is it absolutely every site with a login that logs you out every time you restart, or just the ones that integrate with Flock's features?

Evan Hamilton replied on September 09, 2009 17:05 to the problem "flock has control issues and i want her gone!" in Flock:
Hey walter,
I'm really sorry to hear about your troubles with Flock...Flock (if set as your default browser) should only try to open .html files and web addresses. I'm not sure why it would try to open every file unless a "always open with Flock" checkbox accidentally got checked.
I'd be happy to help you troubleshoot this issue, but if you're completely done with Flock then you can uninstall just like any Mac application: drag the Flock icon from the Applications folder into the trash.
If you have any troubles with that process please let me know.

Evan Hamilton replied on September 09, 2009 17:00 to the problem "No 64-bit version?" in Flock:
Hey ogman,
I appreciate your frustration, it's always hard when a program isn't designed for your platform. Unfortunately, it's just not practical at this point in time. We're based on the technology powering Firefox, and even Mozilla does not currently provide a 64-bit version. This means we'd have to do a bunch of work from scratch just to get it working on 64-bit, and our team is much smaller than Mozilla's.
32-bit Flock should theoretically work fine on your platform, and I know that there may be some third-party 64-bit versions of Flock out there.
Hope that provides some clarity,

Evan Hamilton replied on September 03, 2009 23:16 to the idea "twitter feeds on people sidebar as timeline?" in Flock:
Hey Kamnet,
Flock's chosen to take a different approach, for various reasons. We're definitely listening to the feedback on this choice. I've heard a lot of people in support of the "buddy list view" that we have now, but also lots who would like a timeline view. We're listening, and I encourage people who want the timeline view to click the "I like this idea!" button above. We'll be reevaluating as we design further versions, and it's entirely possible it could change.

Evan Hamilton replied on September 02, 2009 17:15 to the idea "Multiple Twitter Accounts" in Flock:
Hey Mark (and others),
We definitely appreciate the feedback! I have to admit this is a feature I'd love to see two, as I post both as myself and as @flocker.
It's not on the priority list right now as we've got many larger wheels turning, but the more people who click that "I like this idea!" button, the more likely it'll happen. We do pay attention to these votes!

Evan Hamilton replied on August 27, 2009 22:45 to the problem "Flickr cannot login and upload" in Flock:
Hey folks,
The Flickr login issues should absolutely be fixed in Flock 2.5.2. If you're running 2.5.2 and still having issues, I suggest trying the following:
1. Log out of Flickr
2. Open the Accounts&Services sidebar
3. "Forget" your Flickr account(s)
4. Go to Tools>Options (Windows), Flock>Preferences (Mac) or File>preferences (Linux)
5. Go to the Privacy tab
6. Click Show All Cookies
7. Delete any Flickr cookies and (for good measure) Yahoo! cookies
8. Restart Flock
If that doesn't solve the problem, please let us know and we'll look into your specific issue.
Thanks,
Evan Hamilton
