Problem NOT solved, Drew. Problem NOT solved, battles NOT fixed.
Sorry to burst your bubble. And the confidence of your smiley emoticon.
(Just kidding-kind-of. I'm just bored and a bit frustrated. But the PROBLEM IS still here. That part wasn't a joke.) – Evie, on November 06, 2009 22:07

On my MacBook, I too have experienced the "shifting down of the screen" and "disabling of the buttons"--at least on Safari. I tried on Firefox, and INSTEAD, it froze on my final attack. When I picked the battle up on my iPhone, I was missing a chunk of HP I hadn't been missing before--a chunk I can't afford to be missing at this point, believe me--and the spell I had used to attack was gone, and the guy still had the HP he'd had before. I wound up dying and losing a nice chunk of change--but that I CAN afford.
Well, the iPhone version 1.4 works just fine--1.5 is buggy, freezing while trying to connect after every battle ends, for some reason, and I had to keep leaving and coming back to get the thing to load. It's a good thing we sort of have a way to keep a "retroactive" battle system on the iPhone, anyway, even if the site hasn't thought to do that yet.
The new look of this battle system is a little too... flashy... for my taste, anyway, though I hate to say it. But I suppose I'll get used to it eventually.-

Uh, Drew? I think we're handling a different issue here. I believe you about the image servers being down--there were times when NOTHING came up at all--but this is different.
Maybe some people aren't experiencing problems, but a lot of us are. I doubt it's an individual account problem.
The only bug-free way to play right now is on the iPhone. Even some PCs are having other problems, as you can see. So that is the only way to play. There's the truth for you.
Our Battle Mode issue is probably actually MULTIPLE issues. There's too many variations in complaints. – Evie, on November 06, 2009 21:48

Yep. Finished the battle on the iPhone. But it DIDN'T work the way I thought it would. It's like my turn got erased--I lost my turn and the spell I used--and I came in more damaged than I was when I left, like THAT GUY got a freaking turn in somewhere or something. It was weird. And I lost. That guy just made like 35,000 from winning a passive fight. The beestard.
Yep... I hope this gets fixed soon. – Evie, on November 06, 2009 21:37

Well, I tried on Safari. The battle came up!!!!... and none of the buttons were pushable, even though the pointer turned into the hand over them. So I went there on Firefox. The battle came up!! And I COULD push buttons!! But just as I was about to finish the sucker off... it FROZE. And even though I technically beat the guy, too, since the spell I fired had already been issued and would have killed him, the battle page is saying that "you can't do anything until you complete the battle." I would've thought that victory would've gone through... if I pick it up on my iPhone, it'll probably be the turn where I kinda-sorta-not-really beat the guy, and I'll just enter the same action again... and that'll be it.
Well... it's SORT OF better.
But the problem is NOT fixed. And honestly, I don't see how an iMac with the same browsers and mechanics would be able to run while a MacBook can't. It's kinda rediculous.

I do think the image servers have something to do with it; although you don't see what's loading or "connecting" down in the left hand corner when you browse with Safari, Firefox DOES show what it's doing--and it kept saying, "read image.somethingorother." It was as though it was trying to load but never did.
Last night, though, I DID see, at least, the buttons at the bottom for "Attack," "Items," "Settings," "Run Away," etc, and I could hit them, too. I also heard the sound effects sometimes. But when it tried to load the "YOU WON!!!111!!eleventyone!!!!" or whatever it is, the page was blank. I just refreshed, and found under messages that I had just beaten my opponent. I couldn't see what was happening or what our HPs looked like, though, so it was kind of a shot in the dark...
Well, I'll try it again and see what happens. If I freeze up, I'll just bring EPW up on my iPhone and finish the battle that way. – Evie, on November 06, 2009 21:07

I'm having problems, too--as soon as I go to battle somebody, the page comes up blank. The only way I can fight is from my iPhone. I can't go anywhere on the internet pages, but if I re-login from my iPhone, I go straight to the battle, and THEN it works just FINE. The rest of the website seems fine. Sometimes I'll get "loading..." on a dark gray backround with the EPW logo, but it never loads. So I just have to use my iPhone.
I have a MacBook. I just installed OS X Snow Leopard, and even though a lot of things work better, this website is acting funky. Of course, I haven't been to the site for a while until just after I updated to Snow Leopard, so it might just be the new battle format, period. I've tried both Safari and Firefox, and they both do the same thing. Why is the battle system so buggy? There should be a setting for users to go back to previous ones if the new ones aren't working properly for them. Other sites have features like that. This site is big enough to be offering something like that, too.
Look, I started EPW on my iPhone, and I still love playing it there. But I'd really, really, REALLY like to be able to battle on my COMPUTER, PLEASE!!! – Evie, on November 06, 2009 00:53
