Is there a way to turn off crossfade? I prefer to not have it on during shuffle. It seems like for some of my songs it just cuts them off early to go to the next song instead of fading out like it is suppose to do.

thanks for the info...i'm a little surprised this issue has not been fixed yet since it affects the core ability of the music player... – eyeverve, on September 20, 2009 19:16-

Store metadata in song file, not in some app data folderRatings, play count and all that other jazz should be stored in the song file...not a random folder that can easily be lost when creating a new profile or restoring a computer. What is the benefit of not doing this?

i like clouds too, but i prefer to keep my music collection local so that i can have a higher bitrate and thus better quality – eyeverve, on November 10, 2008 22:48

sick. it works. i'm using the wmp interface of the lyricplugin to add lyrics and they show up instantly in songbird. i hope they include this interface in songbird soon. i am now using wmp for lyric editing, mediamonkey for flac ripping and organization, and songbird to enjoy my collection...i hope songbird eventually allows me to eliminate those two other players... – eyeverve, on November 10, 2008 22:44

No matter what browser I use, when trying to 'edit' I am told to upgrade to version 0.3. I installed the WMP client from lyricsplugin.com and that didn't seem to help. I'm not sure how to get the mysterious 0.3 version.
But aside from that, your description of creating lyrics by just using a url doesn't seem to make much sense to me. If you could further explain your method I would appreciate it. Also, if you know anything about that 0.3 problem... – eyeverve, on November 10, 2008 19:25

eyeverve replied on November 10, 2008 17:00 to the question "Does Songbird play CD's?" in Songbird:
Eric, we don't all think you are a Neanderthal. In a way, the "young 'uns" who only buy online are missing out because most music formats available for download online are a much lower quality than CDs.
I use a program called MediaMonkey to rip my CDs to .flac (a lossless music format) and organize my music library. Then I use Songbird to listen to my collection. I could use MediaMonkey, but Songbird has a much better feel and eventually it will support CD ripping (to .flac hopefully) and automatic file monitoring and organization.

Does anyone know what database the LyricMaster add-on uses?Does anyone know what database the LyricMaster add-on uses? I have artists with no lyrics available and would like to add lyrics to the database instead of just my own metadata so that the lyrics are available to everyone.
