It's a great idea, but unfortunately it doesn't quite fit with what people are used to. Plus it makes it hard to go back if you accidentally change something you didn't mean to.

Glad to see you guys are putting forth an extra effort to make the program easier to use though!

I was also a bit annoyed at the problem reported by randy. My problem was that if you want to edit your email address (last field), you need to go to another field just to save it. I'm glad to hear it will be changed to a normal form.

Hi Randy...changes are saved immediately, as you tab out of fields or click on the checkboxes. This isn't very obvious, though, and we're going to change it to a normal form (with a save button) in the future.

When you type something in a field and leave the field, it's automatically saved.

There is no "Save My Settings" button, although the change password button works. It's a bit confusing.

Hi Toddy, sorry about that. The url is https://github.com/ and I believe I am authenticated. The error happens as soon as I open fluid and I can't do anything more... I just see that message in the middle of the screen. I can send you a screenshot if that helps.

hi randy, i need much more detail to help. what urls are you using. what are you doing to see this error, where are you seeing this error, etc.

Interesting. I don't think that second part quite works. http://mail.mydomain.org does eventually resolve to my GAFYD mail inbox. I don't know how to see the current URL in a SSB, but using another browser suggests that the final URL is the GAFYD #inbox. (Unless I've misunderstood your response.) It's of idle curiosity now that I've created an SSB with the GAFYD #inbox url directly. – philip, on May 24, 2008 08:34

yes, the URL you entered when you created the ssb, and the url of the homepage that finally resolves.

Ok, solved. If I create the app as http://mail.domain.org/ the blank window exists. If I create it as http://google.com/a/domain/ the blank window doesn't. So the fix evidently looks at the fluidapp url, not the current page url. – philip, on May 23, 2008 09:47

I'm still getting this with 0.9.1.3 on my gmail GAFYD. Running Leopard 10.5.2 primarily on a core2duo MacBook, UK locale with Dvorak input. Anything I can send that would help you to diagnose this?

Good news, the fix was extremely simple... (since i had already fixed the issue for Gmail and Reader... I was just forgetting to also check for GAFYD).

this fix will ship in 0.9.1. Thanks for your detailed report!

Hi Randy, thanks for the details! Yes, I can see this too... sorry, thought i fixed this along with Gmail and Google Reader with 0.9, but obviously not! I'll try to sneak this into 0.9.1 which will be out by tomorrow...

When using GAFYD email, anytime I click a link, it opens the link in Safari and an empty fluid window. It's essentially the problem fixed in 0.9 "Bugfix: Gmail and Google Reader SSBs no longer spawn empty/unnecessary windows when deferring browsing to the system default browser."

I used http://mail.google.com/a/<domain>/#inbox to create the SSB and can be reproduced by clicking on a link in an email.</domain>
