Unfortunately this also happens on very small pictures. I've a folder with 5 pictures each not larger than 21 KB. All of them just with black icons. All uploaded in one drag-and-drop action.

I've downloaded sobesser.jpg myself and inserted it again. The thumbnail was generated correctly. However, since it is a large image, I guess it could have run out of memory when it tried to resize it if you inserted them both at the same moment.

Hi I noticed the behavior on different file types (jpg and svg) and different sizes (some kB up to several MB).
You can find example (larger files) in http://wua.la/fritz.fabian/public. Both pictures were uploaded together, without resizing them within wuala. Both pictures were taken with the same camera and edited with the same program (Digikam).

Ok, sounds reasonable.

And yes, I did see the green mark ;-) So no bug.
Just the idea, that the (green) mark is not visible sometimes, i.e. the UI changes, which is most times confusing for users (did confuse me too as you can see ;-) ).

We detecting the file types by looking at there ending (e.g. svg). The thumbnails are then generated independently. Unfortunately, our imaging library sometime can't read images. For very large images, it sometimes has not enough memory to process them. But sometimes, it also doesn't recognize an image format. I see lots of svg images without thumbnail, so it seems to be particularily bad at recognizing that format. Have you got an example of a jpg picture that has no thumbnail?

As soon as there is new stuff, a green mark (looks like a green sun) will show up next to the World tab. So you can jump there from the UI, however, only if there actually is some new stuff. (If you didn't see the green mark but saw items in the "new" view, that would be a bug.)
