FamilyDoctorMag reported a problem in Twitter on August 11, 2009 18:17:
Blocked user poaching my tweets@nycdermatology is poaching my tweets. They retweet me (@FamilyDoctorMag) but replace my links with two links to their site. I blocked them probably about two weeks ago. This is still continuing. I'm fed up. Can you do anything?
FamilyDoctorMag replied on October 21, 2008 01:24 to the question "Search rankings: How do they work? Plans to change them?" in Twitter:
Hello, mdy. Thank you for your reply. I want to find people to follow, though. So I want to search their bios and names, not just whether they said a word in a tweet. I've been using the feature on Twitter that allows you to search for people, but it has the problems I mentioned in my original question.
FamilyDoctorMag asked a question in Twitter on October 18, 2008 00:19:
Search rankings: How do they work? Plans to change them? Are there any plans to redo the Twitter search rankings and incorporate, say, most-recent tweet? When I search a general term, I generally find people who haven't updated in up to a full year on the top pages. This makes it impossible to find tweeters I really want to follow because it would take tons of time to scroll through all the pages to find them.
Thank you.

I agree, TheSterlingJoe. And it looks like the spammers have found a way to get around the current limits, anyway. They just set up multiple accounts, which is tons more annoying. – FamilyDoctorMag, on August 20, 2008 20:47-

I just meant that maybe this problem is an extension of previous problems with their attempts to regulate spam. Didn't know you were aware of the discussion. – FamilyDoctorMag, on July 26, 2008 06:35

Hi, GeekMommy. There's a kinda related discussion here, FYI. http://getsatisfaction.com/twitter/to...
It's not exactly the same thing, but I'd imagine the issues are related somehow.-

FamilyDoctorMag replied on June 12, 2008 07:09 to the problem "Not getting email when someone follows me" in Twitter:
Has there been any other answer to this yet, or is this still the policy? Why is there not just a cutoff number of people you're allowed to follow per hour? Secondary: If enough people mark you as a spammer, Twitter could look at your account to see if you are.
This system of hiding followers is both filtering out nonspammers and taking the control out of our hands. Please consider changing it--soon!-
