Fando Gris reported a problem in Get Satisfaction on March 17, 2009 00:43:
change log not working on Songbirdhttp://getsatisfaction.com/songbird/c...
It brings the screen with "Whoops! There’s been a server error, and it looks like something broke. Our apologies."
I'm using Windows Vista with Firefox
Fando Gris shared an idea in Songbird on March 16, 2009 23:43:
Make upper menu items fill the whole bar height (Windows-version)I think Songbird will be more compliant with logical interface building rules (just can't remember author who had determined them [maybe Jacob Nielsen], but it based on human psychological aspects), if height of upper menu items will fill the 100% of title bar vertical space.
I need to explain. If my songbird window maximized to the whole screen, i have to play a game named "try not to miss these small buttons". I'd rather move my cursor to the top of the screen and click the right horizontal position of one i need.
Am i talking nonsense? =) Try MacOS upper menu behaviour. And then the Windows version of SB's menu.
My verdict - Songbird has useless and obstructive space above upper menu.
A comment on the idea "Number of selected songs in status bar" in Songbird:
true! =) Duration of all songs and duration of selected songs. I don't think such calculations need a great CPU usage. – Fando Gris, on March 16, 2009 14:43

Thanks, but i mean a field's focus, not a track. For example, i can position mouse cursor over the next button, focus the track number fields and then do this combination - "1-click-2-click-3-click-4-click...". Or the Track Title, or the track numbers in non-ascending order.. and so on.
Sounds awful? It works! =) I think it will be a good enhancement in original Songbird. Just not to lose a field's focus.

Number of selected songs in status barI'll be so satisfied if i can see the number of currently selected songs in a status bar, just on the left from "total tracks" stat.
I know i can see this value after i open the info box, but wouldn't it be great to know it's number in the same frame?
Thanks!-

Lose field focus while using Next / Prev buttons in Meta data info boxI'm using prev\next buttons to fill the title or a track number fields without closing the meta info window each time, but it will be really useful if the current focused field won't lose a focus after i go to next or previous song.
Thanks in advance!-

Fando Gris replied on March 14, 2009 01:14 to the question "Is there a way to get the Album Art Manager to fetch metadata on a particular song or group of tracks?" in Songbird:
It would be really great. Just like an option in one well-known player - select album songs, choose from context menu option "get tags from freedb.com" and programm gives me all found options in a small box. Then i'm just selecting right suggestion and it completes all known tags!
Please, can you give us a helpful tool?
