Yes, bug 15303 describes my problem. It's a shame that it seems to be an iTunes problem, because this is really keeping me from enjoying Songbird. As much as I would love to have Songbird as my *only* music player, it's just not feasible yet, and this bug makes having Songbird *and* iTunes together also unfeasible. Here's hoping Apple fixes it!

This is a big problem for me; I'm an avid Songbird fan, mostly because of the LyricMaster extension (I love having all of my MetaData accurate!) Until this is fixed, I'm going back to iTunes full time. Fixing my genres everytime I load up iTunes for iPod and podcasts is pretty darn annoying.

For those of you who were interested in my icon from earlier, I recolored it as a yellow bird (much easier to see at small sizes) and fixed the shading issues, as well as changed a few small details that were bugging me.

@DerrickL: I went with yellow because I didn't want it to look too similar to the Mozilla Thunderbird logo. If you want a blue Songbird, that would be easy for me (or anyone else, for that matter) to do by changing the color sliders in Illustrator.

@Carlos: I love the Koshi bird too! I spent an hour or two playing around in Illustrator trying to make a Koshi-style icon, but decided to go this direction instead. :-)

@Everyone: If anyone here knows a thing about extensions, I'd love one that allows you to change the icon for Songbird! As it is, I had to hack the .exe file to use this custom icon.

I would prefer a different icon too... I only have three icons on my desktop: Firefox, Thunderbird, and now, Songbird. One of those three just doesn't belong. I know that this project is entirely unrelated to Mozilla, but I just couldn't resist making an icon that fit in with their great icons.

I have this problem too, and I have a few more details to add for my specific case.

I can rate every song on the album, but the first song of the album won't display the star rating. If I look in the metadata, it shows the stars. This doesn't happen with star-ratings imported from iTunes, only with songs I'm trying to rate in Songbird. It still happens if I try to rate it in the metadata, and it still happens if I try to rate multiple songs at the same time.

I'm using Songbird 1.0 with the standard extensions (MediaFlow, LyricsMaster, Mashtape) and the YABS feather. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

Same here; I think it has something to do with the lyrics extension and the notification asking you "Do you want to save these lyrics?" I'd like to keep the notifications on, but I don't want the program to maximize every time a new song starts.
