Conflicting standards or whatever, most of the web manages to host .GIF files with more than 26 frames. It's completely absurd to block them from being uploaded, and even more absurd to give a generic Error message without explaining why.

I'm getting "Error uploading photo." every time I try to post an animated .gif. It is only ~115K but has almost 30 frames. Is there an animation limit? I have tried in firefox and IE, and I have tried opening the file in an editor and making a new copy, and I still get the infuriatingly uninformative message above.
