I wouldn't post something like this on a Grooveshark-moderated site... You are very likely to get shut down. No matter how tricky you can make your program. – James Hartig, on November 17, 2009 01:09

James Hartig replied on November 11, 2009 18:47 to the idea "Remove duplicate artists/songs, add artist biography." in Grooveshark:
duplicates have been massively improved in Grooveshark 2.0 but as a standpoint from them, they cannot search through the millions of songs and manually take out all the duplicates. Also, programatically there is really only ID3 tag comparison to try to detect a duplicate.
They are working on better methods, from what I hear.
As far as a biography, I remember discussing this with them a long time ago, where the artist can create a bio, I don't know if its coming or if it is already in the works.

A comment on the question "On the legality - and the removal - of uploaded songs" in Grooveshark:
basically no. just because they have a license doesnt mean its already uploaded and idk where you can find a list, sorry. ill let you know if i find something
also, you cannot remove songs you already uploaded and you wont get sued – James Hartig, on November 08, 2009 16:45
James Hartig replied on November 07, 2009 23:35 to the question "On the legality - and the removal - of uploaded songs" in Grooveshark:
Assuming Grooveshark has the licence for the songs, you should be able to. Should Grooveshark not have the licences, then your account will be fine, just upload privileges will be removed if the DMCA finds the songs.
Pretty much, its up to you, whether you want to risk losing your upload privileges or not.
