It could be
- file maintenance as nmat mentioned. That means that Wuala is spreading your files into the network (with the latest update, maintenance is shown in the status bar)
- that you have enabled trading storage and Wuala is receiving or serving fragments
Please let me know if you think that doesn't explain Wuala's bandwidth usage on your computer.

You don't have any files or you aren't uploading any files at the moment?
If you already have files in wuala maybe that traffic is due to file maintenance.
