Fabio set one of Fabio's replies as an official response to "Why can't I set permissions and import basecamp data?" in Goplan
Fabio replied on August 03, 2009 18:33 to the question "Why can't I set permissions and import basecamp data?" in Goplan:
Hi Luke, as stated in the email we sent you, the problem you were experiencing with the Basecamp Importer was tied to the Basecamp's API SSL encryption, and was fixed a few hours ago!
Regarding the user permissions:
- Right now, there are 3 types of users: Admin, User, Collaborator.
- Collaborators only have access to the projects they are specifically added to.
- Users have access to all projects
- Only admin can access the Edit Company area and create projects and add users.
We are aware that some of our users need finer grained permissions, and we are figuring out the best way to implement those in a way that it doesn't affect the overall simplicity of Goplan.
Fabio replied on July 16, 2009 23:00 to the question "How do I add "collaborators" with the free plan?" in Goplan:
Hi Kyle,
Collaborators are added on a project scope. This means that a collaborator will only have access to specific projects that he was explicitly added.
You can add a collaborator to a project by entering the project context (Projects -> pick which one you want) and then by going to the People section in there (on the Home subsection)
There you'll find a Add collaborator button similar to the add user on the Company dashboard.
If you have any more questions feel free to ask!
Fabio replied on July 15, 2009 16:18 to the question "What really is the difference between tickets and tasks?" in Goplan:
Tasks describe discrete events that need to be completed towards a certain goal in a project (or the project as a whole). An example: to build a car, you might have tasks like "assemble frame", "build interiors", and "build gears system". Completing these tasks would get you closer to completing the project.
Tickets on the other hand usually describe issues you may come across with a project (a ticket is the name for issues on issue-tracking systems). Lets say you are building a software application and you notice problems like "clicking the close button doesn't close the window" or "trying to print documents crashes the application". These would typically be tickets - they're not necessarily tasks but issues with the project process itself.
While tasks are fit for any kind of project where things need to get "done", tickets usually are best used in situations where a project may have issues that need to be tackled by the project team.

Fabio replied on July 07, 2009 17:55 to the question "How do I import data from Basecamp?" in Goplan:
Hi Matt, i'm glad we managed to sort things out!
You are correct, i should have mentioned the issue with the projects limit, but since you get a different error message when you try to import a basecamp account that will surpass the Goplan subscription limit, i thought that wasn't the case! (is this the case on your 30+ projects company?)
By the way, if you have non-active projects on Basecamp, they won't count for the limit count in Goplan!
Thanks for the feedback, Matt we will definitely look up that "project selection on import" feature and assert it's cost / benefit ratio :)

Fabio replied on December 28, 2008 07:15 to the question "closing "new features" banner doesn't work" in TotSpot:
This is very weird, i have never witnessed a failure in firefox that would cause javascript to stop working properly :S. Firefox eating lots of memory after long usage time and crashing? Ok, that happens, but that also happens with any other browser... My bet is that one of those extensions is causing the problem.
Adblock Plus can cause problems with javascript if the settings aren't correct.
DownThemAll! is fine, i use that one all the time :p
Fabio replied on December 28, 2008 07:09 to the question "Trouble rotating photos" in TotSpot:
Hi KKat, thanks for getting it touch with us!
Have you tested the rotate feature with other photos ? I've tested it myself and it worked flawelessly... If its a single photo problem try uploading it again or open it in an image manipulation program like photoshop or even MSPaint and save it as a new copy...
Please reply with more information regarding the problematic photo (size, for example)

Fabio replied on November 23, 2008 23:44 to the question "trouble accessing profile pages" in TotSpot:
Is the profile of your child open to public ? If you want to share the profile page with your family and not have them login to totspot, you need to set the profile as public.
(you can set a password for the public page, to prevent everyone to access it)
Also, keep in mind that the public page version of the profile doesn't allow your family to see the full content of your child's TotSpot profile.
In order for them to be able to see all the photos and other content, they need to register and login.

Fabio replied on November 21, 2008 15:26 to the question "How to delete a video from my totspot page?" in TotSpot:
Go to the videos index page, by accessing the sidebar navigation on your child's profile.
Then click on the video you wish to delete (not on the picture, but on the title or on the view/add comments)
Then, you should see a Delete video option above the video.
This process is valid for the other kind of content aswell
Tell me if this helps!
Fabio replied on November 20, 2008 14:51 to the idea "Could use a quick way to get to newly uploaded photos IN A PHOTOSET." in TotSpot:
Hi again Jury, and thanks for your idea :)
You could always sort the set by Reverse Chronological and the newer photos will always show up on top.
Keep in mind that this is true if the new photos have been taken at a more recent date than the old ones, since we use the EXIF data from the jpg itself (this EXIF data is set by the camera itself when you take a picture with it, so it's important to have your cameras properly configured in terms of time)
EXIF data stores , among other things, the exact time when the photo was originally taken, the camera model from which it came from, etc etc
This may or may not solve your problem, but it should work for the most common use case, where you create a set with some photos, then later on you take some more photos and upload them to the same set...
The problem with your idea, is that the definition of "new photos" or "photos that i have not yet seen" depends on who is viewing them, and because of that, it makes it much more tricky to implement.
Fabio replied on November 19, 2008 23:07 to the idea "It would be nice to be able to delete comments." in TotSpot:
Are you talking about the comment wall on the profile ? If that is the case, rest easy, cause it's already in our plans to have a way to manage them :)
About other comments (on photos, videos, etc...), both the child's managers and the person that made the comments have the ability to delete them.
Thanks for your input! We'r always happy to hear from our users!
