Nick H.
Thanks for your reply. It does not make sense to me either. The shortcut in the Start menu is correct and the only difference is the switches "/FW /enable" which of course is not applied when I use "my workaround" (going to the folder and double clicking sbPFLnch.exe). I will have to play around with this a bit more to come up with details that you can use to figure this one out.
I should probably add that I can only reproduce this "situation" when running ComboFix (exiting the FW and disabling VIPRE before running CF). Exiting the FW and starting it again without running CF do not create the same situation.
It is really no big deal - I just did not understand the messages that showed up in the first place (pictures in my original question). If you have a closing procedure for these questions feel free to consider the problem solved.
Best regards,
FBJ

VIPRE blocks Windows Update....Recently my VIPRE started to block windows update. The regular windows update files I can get to run with the "Allow" command but VIPRE also decided to block bits (background intelligent transfer service) and I am now in the situation where I have to disable VIPRE in order to get updates to Windows (well, I guess I can just "unblock" BITS). Guys - if this is intentionally you should not be in the anti-malware business. If it is not intentionally - fix it.....
