Robert, I don't think the mean-spirited gloating helps. I notice that you use Twitter quite a bit, but if you prefer other services to Twitter, go for it. Leave us to our hope and help.

Oh, looks like it's back up. I'm able to login via the website. That was shorter than I expected.

Edited to add: And pingdom does show that the site is back up.

People who come here and complain that Twitter is down crack me up. I admit I used to be the same way, then after over a year of outright terrible customer service and uptime I gave up reporting the errors. With well over a year of the same old issues time after time maybe some of you will realize that their are much better and more stable services out there, the ONLY thing that Twitter has in it's favor is it's large userbase.

Twitter has received over 20 MILLION in financing and yet they still can't keep the service online.

If http://www.jaiku.com (Run by Google) or http://www.identi.ca (Open Source) were to ever get decent traction Twitter would finally die.

Twitter has been very slow for the past 30 min. or so. The Pingdom Uptime Report currently shows Twitter as being down.

Twitter will come back when it's ready...

Woke up to a nice surprise: got all of my followers and followees are back. :)

And a nasty surprise: my Older button which started working yesterday (after more than three weeks!) stopped working again. :(

I'm giving up on Twitter. Enough is enough.
