Ah, OK - after a little more testing it seems that the problem is with deleting a large amount of stories. I can delete a handful without problem, about 5-10 seems to be fine. If I try deleting a bigger number, e.g. all stories in the Icebox, then a couple will go and the rest will return after logging-out and back in again.

I think this is similar to a problem I just reported - I am trying to delete stories in my Icebox but they won't reappear after being deleted.

Hi, I'm unable to delete stories from the Icebox! They disappear if I select them and click 'Delete Selected' from the 'Actions' menu, but then if I log-out and back in again, they are still in my Icebox.

Is this a known issue?

Thanks for your quick reply - I've imported the exported movie into iMovie '08 but I don't see a dropdown with chapter markers in. I've also checked with other apps that the plus button on my remote works.

I've included a screenshot of iMovie so let me know if I'm missing something.
