The trick here is adding all of these features, while at the same time maintaining the site's current simplicity and beauty. Do not add a single feature without first ensuring that you're not convoluting the process or diluting the brand you've created.
You've got something good here. Something beautiful. All of these suggestions are secondary to the simplicity and ease-of-use you've already constructed. Do not loose sight of that.

I get paid weekly!I get paid weekly! (ok, not really... but some people do.) Or bi-monthly, or every day, etc. The point here is that monthly is the "norm" but it would be excellent to be able to make daily/weekly/bimonthly/monthly/bimonthly?/annual additions to each goal as well. Maybe it could even be set to take out a certain amount on a certain day... for example... if I know I am going to be getting a bonus on September 1st, maybe I could set SmartyPig to automatically take a payment out on the 2nd. You would get warning of the pending payment of course.
Bottom line, more flexibility. SmartyPig is supposed to help make it easier, and more automatic, for you to save. Kind of like a bill. It comes out every month. Well, personally, I make mortgage payment twice a month. Everyone is different.

My email inbox is inundated! My email inbox is inundated! How about some control over which messages get sent to us? For example, I may want to hear from SmartyPig when I've reached my half-way point, but not hear from them EVERY SINGLE TIME they remove funds from my account. Maybe I want to hear when someone adds funds to my account, but I don't want to get a notification every time SmartyPig plans on taking scheduled funds out of my account.
At the very least, there should be a checklist of the potential notifications SmartyPig will be sending me, and I should be able to opt-out of said notifications if I wish.

Notification Indicator (#)The numerical indicator after "notifications" should indicate the number of UNREAD items, not the number of all the items. I want to keep certain messages in there, but I don't want the annoying # indicator right next to it making me think I have a new message.
This is especially important as you grow your "notifications" library. You start to forget how many notifications you had, so when you get a new notification, you dont' even notice it.
It should work just like email, text messages, etc. The number should indicate NEW items, not ALL items.

Manual Contribution ControlGive me the ability to control my 'monthly contribution' manually, without calculating based on $Goal and date of goal completion. Perhaps I want to add $50/mo. now, and $150/mo. later on in the process. Don't make me enter in an inaccurate date to get the results (monthly contribution) I want.
You shouldn't have to "fool the computer" to get the monthly withdrawal where you want it.
ex. Say I want to set up an "iMac" savings ccount. I want to buy the machine in 1 year. Right now, I can only afford to spend $25/mo., but in 6mo. from now I could afford to spend $200/mo. Why, when I set my goal, and my goal completion date, does SmartyPig REQUIRE that I pay the total price divided by the # of months? I can't AFFORD anythign more than $25/mo. right now... plus, what about contributions? The site is based off of contributions from other people too, but the way my monthly contribution is calculated seems to not consider this fact at all!
SmartyPig should TELL ME what I would have to add per month to reach my goal in time, and adjust monthly accodingly, but let me set my actually contribution manually without having to enter in a completely inaccurate time to get what I want. You shouldn't have to play tricks around the computer and fool it into thinking one thing, when you're doing another. Especially since changing your goal date can affect outsider contribution.
