Ask Mr. FF?It would be nice to have a similar service for FriendFeed
A comment on the idea "Plaze me from Nokia Maps" in Plazes:
LOL, I haven't read that article before. But it was a natural thought: Plazes is owned by Nokia so I would not have said Google Maps ;o) – Flavio, on November 25, 2008 16:19

Plaze me from Nokia MapsWhat about integrating Plazes with a maps software like Nokia Maps? It would be enough to add a choice to the menu: once a location is selected we could choose 'plaze me here' and open a new page on the browser with chances to add details about that plaze and write the sentence to tweet.
A comment on the idea "Points of Interest database" in Plazes:
That is exactly how I access the site! – Flavio, on November 24, 2008 12:22

Thanks Giuseppe, the problem is when the same plaze has multiple entries made by different people, and when I try to enter it on mobile and don't have all details as street number and such.
I see Plazes as an application to use on the road rather than on the PC at home, so look for an easy way to enter plazes from my mobile phone.

Add plazes by coordinatesI'd like to be able to set a plaze position by coordinates when there's not an exact address available to enter, typical for landmarks: I tried to enter a beach position but unsuccesfully.

Points of Interest databaseEverytime I am at some plaze I need to enter all data as that plaze is not in the database. Of course, I don't expect to have everything already in, but as a beginning wouldn't it be easier to import the list of points of interests available for every GPS system (and let's say included in Nokia Maps for instance!)? In this way I can just select a plaze from the available ones rather than needing to add it every time.-

Flavio asked a question in Brightkite on November 09, 2008 23:01:
Guess location on mobile: how does it work?I'd like to know how the Guess Location tool work, as for me it seems it never finds a result. In particular, I'd like a quick way to get my location on mobile either using a GPS antenna (integrated or connected via Bluetooth) or using the GSM antenna(s) I am connected to (a less precise result but good enough). See for instance the new Nokia Friend View tool.
I found an answer saying that you were working on the GPS check-ins, but it's over 6 months old: are there news on it?
A comment on the question "Update location on Twitter?" in Ping.fm:
I just noticed that Twitter has added the location field on people's profiles. Maybe they are working on GeoRSS.
My doubt was in seeing twitter abilitated (while pownce is not for instance) and nothing posted about location. Maybe now twitter is working on it and Ping.fm just anticipated?
Thanks – Flavio, on November 09, 2008 12:52
Flavio replied on November 09, 2008 12:41 to the question "New Twitter Location Setting" in Brightkite:
Twitter has just added the Location field, check it on your Twitter profile. I am not sure yet if tweets contain now GeoRSS and include this information, but if not I guess it will be added soon. In this way some service can use it, as FriendFeed adds a little Google Map with your location if the location is known.
A comment on the question "Update location on Twitter?" in Ping.fm:
Sorry, I didn't explain myself correctly. I did what you suggest, and that''s how I found out that Ping.fm transfer @l info via Twitter, but that info doesn't go through as I am not sure Twitter supports it.
I sent the same message with the @l trigger on both Twitter and Brightkite, and both of them arrived at my FriendFeed; just the second had the map (supporting GeoRSS) while Twitter did not. – Flavio, on November 08, 2008 11:01
Flavio asked a question in Ping.fm on November 07, 2008 21:22:
Update location on Twitter?I noticed that Twitter has the update location active, but differently from Brightkite, the location information doesn't go through (don't know if twitter supports it or not). Now that FriendFeed shows locations with a Google Map it shows if I ping via Brightkite, but it doesn't with Twitter.

Flavio reported a problem in Socialthing on July 10, 2008 18:08:
Updates missingAutomatic updates don't show up anymore as it was before the addition of new services. Also refreshing the page doesn't make new entries show (and there would be). Facebook status+pix are not included either.-
Flavio started following the idea "RSS exports of lifestreams?" in Socialthing.
Matt Galligan's reply to "RSS exports of lifestreams?" was just promoted to the most useful! Flavio and 2 other people think it's one of the best replies.
